Mt. Soledad cross ordered to be taken down
RE: Mt. Soledad cross ordered to be taken down
Yeah, I think GC just took irony to an epic level we didn't know existed.

My irony bone just got broken.

Why, because I said something that was true. Atheist use the Bible for their own agendas by twisting it around through cherry picking and I've seen Christians here do the same. I try and back up Biblical verses with others and explain the meaning of them.

No, because you and the other Christians here make such regular and revolting practice of it.

I should have thought my point was obvious, but then again, I had forgotten I was dealing with the oblivious.

Here's the thing, GC. That cherry picking can even be an issue is a strike against the Bible being authored by an omniscient being. An omniscient being could easily author a book so consistent that you couldn't go to one verse and use it to make the opposite point that another verse does. Heck, if it had been written by one human, we would expect fewer verses at odds with each other. That atheists and Christians can both cherry pick to make their cases only underscores how inconsistent your scriptures are. And 90% of the time, that's the point the atheist is trying to make: 'Hey, Christian, you're cherry picking by ignoring this verse over here that says the opposite of what you say the Bible says!'
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

Here's the thing, I've seen no contradictions in scripture, one has to study the whole of scripture to see it's truth outside of that it's cherry picking.

You've never seen me cherry pick, I've backed up many verses with other verses to show a truth, just because you want accept them doesn't mean they are wrong, on the contrary it means the truth was revealed and you didn't like it, that's not a very responsible way to have a valid discussion.

You also think ad hoc explanations are a valid way of resolving apparent contradictions, based on the assumption that there can't possibly be a real contradiction in the Bible.

In plain words, one has to be taught how to twist the words of a perfect, infallable gawd to reconcile the irreconcilable.

lol, "I'm right because I'm right and you're a dumb poopyhead!" is not the most convincing argument I've ever seen mounted.
