I really don't want to belabour this and clog up the thread, but while you may have a point, if the intention of the advertisers was to advertise the original variety of this product, they can hardly be blamed for not including a variety that you or anyone else thinks they could have or should have used instead.

Then maybe they shouldn't have used 'multigrain people' to advertise plain old nasty Cheerios.

That's just your perception. You cannot project your perception onto others and use it as a judgement on their motives.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Black guy, white (ish) woman mulato little girl... All represented by 3 white Cheerios..

This was a little all a little too insensitive for me.

They should have used multi grain Cheerios.

Brown for the dad, white for mom, and the tan ones for the kids.

Oreo cookies must drive you insane, eh Drippy?

My sister use to take them apart eat the cream then put them back together and place them Back in line.. The madding thing it was months before we figured out what she was doing. We just thought nabisco quality control was a little off. That They were selling soggy cookies with very little filling.

Well of course you can, just as long as you remember that your view may not be theirs. It'd be the same as if I were to see you walking along with, say, a nice new hat, and concoct some elaborate story in my head about how you got it and what I might imagine it makes you think of me and then assault you for it.

Then of course we have the little matter of "judge not lest ye be judged" and all that.

How ridiculous is it that people are offended by the Coke commercial. I rarely get surprised by PC idiocy any more. But I thought that commercial was great. When I saw that there was an "outcry" and people were calling for a boycott... wow.

I especially like the guy who said that singing the national anthem in anything but english was wrong... so perfect.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I wasn't "offended" by the Coke commercial, but I did mute the TV until it was over. I just thought it was annoying.
