I don't believe in Sod's/Murphy's law, however, that slight chance for something to go wrong is where I stop and fix whatever it is. Such as taking a chance on a question in a homework assignment rather than looking for the answer.

I assume I'll get it wrong either be satisfied with the chance or correct it.

I love it. It was done as a speech by Gerald Hoffnung in the Oxford Union about 50 years ago and published as a recording.
