The simple truth
RE: The simple truth
In my experience, Creationists generally find fault with evolution because they are looking for it. It cannot be both ways, so in order for their beliefs to be correct, evolution has to be a lie. The earth has to be relatively young. If their god created everything, why would humans (the reason for his creation) only be here for the last geologic eyeblink? Why would we be living on a planet around an ordinary star, in the boondocks of a galaxy of hundreds of billions of stars, in a non-descript corner of a universe full of hundreds of billions of galaxies if the Bible says God created it for us?

If you are starting from an unwavering position that the Bible is the infallible word of a higher being, then nothing that contradicts that is true. Even if you can see it with your eyes. So you have to be intellectually dishonest. This is completely foreign and not understandable to me, who believes that I must test everything, gain knowledge, ask questions, try to live in reality. It is not possible to be a Creationist and do all of these things.

OMFG! I can't believe someone actually dragged out the old "Why are there still monkeys?" bullshit.

I know! I get so tired of hearing that. It isn't that i and the rest aren't trying to evolve on up from monkeys. We're just evolutionarily challenged we're not 'monkeys' for christsake.

Again you can see why they do it, but nothing undermines them more I think. I know incredibly intelligent people who think along the same lines. Scientists too.

I'm impressed with the open attitude to our concerns here. Kudos guys.

It sure would be nice to see a Christian organization gain popularity which espoused no desire to see secular society modeled after the bible. A group which would also speak to the value found in their belief in a way that made it clear that it didn't all come down to getting into the good place and avoiding the bad place. A more insightful and thoughtful approach. They could show that science is a friend, informing their conception of 'creation' rather than threatening it. The group would be tolerant and genuinely respect the aspirations of other religious groups and look expectantly to find the value in every life view including that of an atheist. Now that would be one hell of a Christian group and fully ready to take its place in a the modern world.

I'd say everyone has different buttons and approaches. Some respond to facts, others to threats. Some people need driving, others guiding. Lots need to be made to think they reached the conclusion themselves and sometimes one can use reverse psychology.

I've never seem mockery work because then to accept your truth they have to accept your assessment that they're a fucking moron right along with it.

Not saying it's never appropriate mind, just that it help change minds. People like Jideoni-Charles can't and won't and as such a bit of mockery is clean fun with no downside.

I just want to know where you get off telling people how to respond to douche bags?

I made a very good point in this post and I do NOT apologize for dropping the hammer on a total piece of shit hypocrite sack of garbage. I don't have to be nice to arrogant assholes. I don't have to be tolerant and I sure as hell don't have to be scolded by someone who believes a lot of the same stupid horse shit. You want to pat imbeciles on the head and placate douche bags for rude behavior, that's your business, but I'm not going to keep turning the other cheek over and over again simply because some theist tells me I should.

They believe that evolution refers to a complete genetic overhaul that creates a whole new species in a single generation by "chance." Because something like this is so unlikely as to be impossible, scientists therefore disingenuously cover themselves by calling it a "theory." When you consider it from that perspective, it becomes obvious that "science" is lying, and the only possible explanation is that they seek to lead people away from god.

They reject the actual understanding of evolution because to do so means that they've been lied to, and god wouldn't let that happen to them... would he?

Even a million generations will not change once species into another. Neither Science nor evolution can empirically explain everything. All roads eventually lead back to intelligent design.

Oh no, that's just stupid talk. If Jesus was up there on a cloud looking down, he'd be face palming himself right now at the thought of you representing him. Please put on the dunce cap and stand in the corner until you understand why you're wearing it. Thanks .. and welcome.

And your evidence for any of this is..?

Oh no, wait - you don't have any, right?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Come now, you're pullin chains! Gotta be!

You are literally denouncing one explanatory model, while espousing another that fails the same test so miserably as to be laughable! You are just a lousy troll.

Okay, now you're just being fucking stupid. I'm sorry I ever bothered trying to have a conversation with you like a human being.
