Come on Christian! Without evidence what are we supposed to think?

'You can have all the faith you want in spirits, and the afterlife, and heaven and hell, but when it comes to this world, don't be an idiot. Cause you can tell me you put your faith in God to put you through the day, but when it comes time to cross the road, I know you look both ways.' - Dr House
“Young earth creationism is essentially the position that all of modern science, 90% of living scientists and 98% of living biologists, all major university biology departments, every major science journal, the American Academy of Sciences, and every major science organization in the world, are all wrong regarding the origins and development of life….but one particular tribe of uneducated, bronze aged, goat herders got it exactly right.” - Chuck Easttom
"If my good friend Doctor Gasparri speaks badly of my mother, he can expect to get punched.....You cannot provoke. You cannot insult the faith of others. You cannot make fun of the faith of others. There is a limit." - Pope Francis on freedom of speech

Why would your god need to hide in an invisible dimension while his "beloved children," with whom he is so interested in their private parts, exist and only in this dimension?
According to the bible, over a million people have heard the direct voice of god. Why has god been silent for 2000+ years?
When you pray, how does god converse with you from this other dimension?

This video may be of interest to the claims of extra dimensional type stuff. How can you possibly claim to know anything about something you define as out of our field of understanding and measurement?
How do you distinguish a claim like this from mental delusions? They make a good point in another episode, that religion makes mental illness harder to diagnose. When you have so many people regularly describing "acceptable" delusions about reality (god did this and that, I talked to Jesus) it is much harder to be able to tell when someone has a "real" delusion and needs professional help.

PS: Whether or not god is transcendental and untraceable or whatever, either he has an effect on reality as we know it or he doesn't. If he does, it should be measurable.

Well, you've convinced me.

"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

If he's just an intangible force that exists in another dimension, instead of a guy that comes down from on top of the world's firmament like the bible says, then why worship it?

How do you know that?

If he doesn't exist in our dimension and isn't tangible, how do you know he exists? If you have some way of knowing he exists, then he can be observed, by very definition.
So, which is it?

I have no idea what the crazy idea of god refers to and, it appears neither have you.
Not tangible and in a different dimension. This is code for "there is no evidence for it so I'll put it somewhere you can't check".

I wonder if anyone ever did that with the greek gods. Some people reach the top of Moutn Olympus, and say there are no gods up there, so people who still want to believe just say they left for space or another dimension.
