Yeah, Pepsi will be shaking in their boots over this.  With all the brands under the Pepsi banner, I think they can weather this.  

Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Frito-Lay, Quaker Oats, Doritos, Aquafina, Sobe, Starbucks, Lipton tea, Tropicana...to name a few.  Not to mention the restaurants they pair with - Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Arby's, Papa John's.

1,300 complaints won't even be noticed.  They are surely already coming up with ads for next year's Super Bowl as well as planning the halftime show since they have that contract for the next couple years at least.

And all those "godless" people who would have had the temerity to produce such a show are going to come down with some serious disease or other.  I liked the booty shaking, to be honest, though I watched a compilation, as I consider US football to be a waste of time for my viewing "pleasure", and didn't watch that game.

Legal abortion is gone for many women, but the problem is about to get exponentially worse

Most Americans have no idea that the religious right is, after over four decades of trying, quietly on the verge of ending Roe v. Wade as we know it. The case is being heard March 4, and is called June Medical Services vs. Russo. Even though the Supreme Court ruled, a mere four years ago, that the state of Texas couldn't use medically unnecessary regulations on abortion clinics as a backdoor way of banning abortion, Louisiana thought they'd take another go at it. 

What changed? Not the medical science or rationale for these backdoor bans. No, it was the makeup of the court. With Donald Trump appointee Brett Kavanaugh on the bench instead of Justice Anthony Kennedy, anti-choice activists believe they have just enough votes to end Roe in all but name — precedent be damned. 

But, as reproductive health researchers Carole Joffe and David Cohen argue, for many women in America, it's already a post-Roe world. Years of state Republican legislators passing restrictions on abortion in a piecemeal fashion has created a situation where the procedure may be legal, but out of reach for millions of women. The court's expected ruling this year will simply make this already terrible problem much worse. 

On March 4th the Supreme court will be hearing a case called June Medical Services vs Russo. It's about Louisiana state regulations that threatened to shut down abortion clinics in that state.

In the 2016 case Whole Women's Health vs. Hellerstedt. The court decided, that if you're going to impose restrictions, there had to be evidence and the benefits to women had to outweigh the cost.
Put more colloquially, the courts said to state legislators, you can't make s**t up. Scientific experts, both medical and social science, showed that these restrictions would impose hardships, and that there was no medical benefit.

But now, just a few years later, here comes the state of Louisiana totally ignoring it.

Christian radio host sentenced to 40 years for child sex abuse

A judge branded the actions of Christian radio host John Balyo "filthy [and] obscene" yesterday, and handed him a 40 year sentence for sexually exploiting a minor as well as possessing child pornography.

Balyo, a former morning host at WCSG, a Christian station operated by Cornerstone University in Michigan, was accused of leading a "double life".

So it's fair to say that American people are all horrible given they have such a high crime rate...

Of course not, it's completely irrational... But that's the way it is with the identity politics these days i guess... It's insane

The thread is full of stories of individuals - it's not the only thread, and the stories on these boards aren't the only one.

There is something very, very wrong with christian belief. It turns people into assholes. Otherwise good people, I'm sure.

I could understand being suspicious of priests. Even being dirty with the churches for not doing something about this sooner

I am. I don't know why they have celibate priest. They could fix the problem if they let them have wives

Pedophilia makes my blood boil more than any other crime so can understand the frustration

Having wives doesn't solve the problem. The Boy Scouts of America is filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy due to the quantity of lawsuits filed by the youth members who were abused.

Catholics and protestants are still funding the sex-crime rings they call churches, and not just that - they actively minimize the full misery and scope of the problem while waffling around with some bullshit about how there are bad people from all walks of life.  

That doesn't make them pedophiles, but it does make them complicit apologists and financial backers.
