I said nothing of the sort. I just said intelligent because there's a chance he made the universe. But I take that back. He doesn't have to be intelligent if making the universe start and go on to support our condition as it did is child's play for him.
But more intelligent than us

He may have farted out our reality. We don't know he even meant to make it. He could be a dumb fuck, and farts out things that just happen to take metaphysical form: an independent reality observable only to its inhabitants that appears very complex. But all he did was farted, he doesn't even know what happened or that the building blocks of his reality are made from other meta realities.

My speculation is as good as anyone else's Big Grin We don't know anything about him, if he exists at all.

Okay, so either:
A) you built this conclusion on facts and observations about the world (unlikely)
B) you read it in a religious book that I've not heard of
C) you made it up, possibly because you're set on being religious, but dislike a lot of what organized religion teaches. Or because this particular view of reality strikes you as being eloquent and existentially satisfying.

We're not being mean. You'll come to see that if you make claims on this forum, you'll get asked to back them up.

Otherwise it's just a bunch of people saying whatever they want and everyone just says "cool man".

I just blocked an imaginary sword attack with both of mine, then did a jumping double-arm dismemberment. Just to give you a window into what I do when not typing in the forum. That one was a highlight.

Alright I get that. I know you're not being mean. I just think we're going in circles and reaching no where. Now I'm going to take a LOOOOONG break

Yup, well, if you're dealing with something that is unknowable, then you can't debate about its attributes. So indeed, that goes round in circles.

So you indeed are making very, very specific claims about your incomprehensible being.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Quote:Best-selling author Eric Metaxas' Christmas day op-ed about scientific evidence for the existence of God became the most popular article ever published on the Wall Street Journal's website, according to the op-ed's writer. Criticisms of the article came from many corners, including some fellow Christians.

Science increasingly supports the hypothesis that the universe has a creator, Metaxas wrote. By calculating the probability that life on Earth emerged from random events, the evidence suggests a designer. The existence of life, and the universe itself, is so highly improbable, according to recent scientific findings, disbelief in an intelligent creator has become far fetched, Metaxas argued.

This is the working backwards scenario which seems to indicate that this state of life was a goal and working out how unlikely it is to get this specific result.

These problems vanish when you discount the current state as the goal and accept that if the universe wasn't as it is now it would be different. Maybe similar, maybe not.

Why do theists insist on buying books like this? is their faith so shaky that they need to use bad science to bolster it?

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

Yes... don't buy these fucking awful books. These people are making a living off of deceit and terrible arguments. Go to unbiased sources, qualified people, and do your own research. These guys are a disgrace.

I agree

It's like atheists buying the God delusion. Bad theology sells just like bad science.
