I'm asking for real. There are lots, lots & lots of similarities between our faiths, hence Muslims even see that Christians aren't that "astray", yet my view towards you is just like my view towards Sunni or Shia Muslims : people whom their ancestors forged the book & twisted it ; for the poor new generations to get lured into a gridlock of a book, that half of it is correct yet half of it is false.
If God had a son, then god is not pure : he displays human behavior & proving that he (just like any creature) has a race & genes. How would I respect my god, if he like humans, reproduce ?
I could never understand why you guys look at it this way. What's the logic ? I mean why does the author of the bible tries so hardly, to turn the god of Jesus peace be upon him, into a heathen lord like Zeus ? with a breed and so ?
Please don't turn this into personal attacks & all.
Islam is about 600 years newer than Christianity. Then you have the evidence Muhammad wasn't born until the 7th Century, then the Quran was written in 94 A.D. So let's cut this down into logic and reason. Now you know that Islam is certainly not older than Christianity and it i surly not older than judaism. The whole story with god coming down and becoming human is always certainly questionable because more or less why would he bother with us after all. I mean clearly both the Muhammad and Jesus story both have god coming down as human one died for our sins which is asinine when a simple i forgive you would have done great by the way. All in all if a god cannot forgive his own children that is a bad parent/creator just saying.
-peace out

I shouldn't have to list book chapter and verse where yahweh tells his followers to kill people who don't follow him. Since christianity is supposed to be the updated version, and Jesus is the one true way to get to heaven, that means jews that don't get with the program need to die.

If he creates things, is he displaying human behavior? If he expresses emotion, is he displaying human behavior? Is it only reproduction and the propagation of genetic material that separates god from humans, so that producing a son via magical intercourse somehow diminishes god?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Killing the apostate, always considered a good idea in the old time religions:
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?se...eronomy+13
Quote:Worshiping Other Gods
13 [a]If a prophet, or one who foretells by dreams, appears among you and announces to you a sign or wonder, 2 and if the sign or wonder spoken of takes place, and the prophet says, “Let us follow other gods” (gods you have not known) “and let us worship them,” 3 you must not listen to the words of that prophet or dreamer. The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him. 5 That prophet or dreamer must be put to death for inciting rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery. That prophet or dreamer tried to turn you from the way the Lord your God commanded you to follow. You must purge the evil from among you.
6 If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known, 7 gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other), 8 do not yield to them or listen to them. Show them no pity. Do not spare them or shield them. 9 You must certainly put them to death.
Cue tortured rationalization on why this doesn't actually apply to Christians in 3.....2.....1.5.....1.25.....
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat?

You do need to be asked To list BCV when you make crap up. That way you look foolish as possible when you can't provide it and are caught misrepresenting the bible.

You do understand that the bible represents two completely different religions do you not?
Appearently you do otherwise you would not need a countdown clock for the common sense rebuttal you predicted.

Completely different religions???
No connection? Not the same god?
Pray tell, how is that?

It's the same God, he's just winding one/both of you up. It's still Morgan Freeman.

That's what makes it so hard to discuss with theists. It's like squashing fleas. Easy to crush, but catching them and holding them down long enough is near impossible.

It seems like the points of contention are insignificant compared to the massive unsupported assumptions necessary to take any of it at all seriously.
An omnipotent God is fine, but he can't make a human son, that's ridiculous!?
