That's very kind of you, if I'm wrong then I take responsibility and I'll try and find you and save you too. But even if there is a place where God punishes people, he'd have to be a sick, twisted evil being to punish us just for insulting an aspect of him. If God is that messed up, we can't trust him anyway.
If an ant cursed my name, called me every horrific thing under the sun, I think I could handle it. Especially if I knew that the ant thought I wasn't even real. I wouldn't feel the need to punish it at all. I'd find it funny. What kind of petty egomaniacal God would get so wound up by what we say? The whole thing betrays god's entirely human nature, because he's a human construct. And he's a shitty human at that.
It made me cry but it was a long time coming... something that needed to be done.
I could never truly love a god who has to promise rewards and threaten punishments to get his way. That's just the way of an insecure, controlling human, and as you say, a shitty human at that.
