I think not.

That is the definition of quote mining.  It's using quotes to misrepresent the speaker or author's views.  You have done it to Ehrman.   And you have sited articles that don't say what you cite them for.  Quality of references, not quantity is what counts.  And no reference is needed for arguments, proofs, or opinions (unless they belong to someone else) only for facts.

Roughly three months ago in the Ask A Catholic thread, I wrote that priests who commit crimes like this should be prosecuted and sent to jail. I have repeated this as often as the subject has come up.

So, again, cite the post in which I DEFENDED pedophile priests.

What I'm NOT going to listen to is a bunch of ignorant fools blathering on about the Catholic Church and besmirching the good reputation of the 99% of our priests who have not been involved in these crimes.

Pedophilia is more prevalent in just about every institution - schools, scouting, sports teams, and yes, Protestant churches, etc. - than it is among Catholic priests.

But that's an inconvenient truth for your atheists, isn't it?

Here's another:   A Priest talking about the glories of circumcision:

One was describing how the early church tried to require Gentiles to become circumcised in order to be Xtian. He was talking about what a wonderful practice it is, what a glorious way to remind men that they have a relationship with God. He said "I feel sorry for uncircumsized males. They don't have the joy of being reminded, every few hours, that they are special to god."

Not at all. Many here have told you they abhor child rapists wherever they occur but that what makes it extra specially bad when a priest does it is that he's presented to the world as a paragon of morality and then protected by the same church that projects that moral authority.
