Don't project. Not everyone is a bootstrap conservative and a christian. Most people actually do care.

Yes, that means you.
And no, you still haven't answered my points. They're in my above posts. Go reread them, this time for comprehension rather than argumentation.
Parkers, have I EVER said the priests guilty of these crimes should be sent to jail? How many times?
But you wrote:
Quote:I hate enablers, like your Church. Apologists like you deserve your share of contempt for continuing to support an organization which resists efforts by law enforcement to bring these priests to justice.
You help protect these priests with your donations, and you've earnt my contempt for that.
The Catholic Church is made up of all of its members, Parkers. So, when you "hate enablers, like your Church" you are actually saying that you hate all Catholics because we ARE the Church. And OF COURSE I continue to support my church, Parkers - all 1.2 billion of us continue to support our Church - despite the sins of some individuals within the Church. We are able to make a distinction between individuals who do bad things and the institution itself which is good.
For example, Planned Parenthood is bad because it operates slaughterhouses for the collection and sale of human body parts. That's an institutional evil. On the other hand, someone like Jerry Sandusky, who raped boys in the shower at Penn State, was a bad individual; Penn State as an institution is not guilty of his crimes...even if some at Penn State covered it up. Penn State is bigger than those few individuals.
Can you not make this distinction?
I dunno...based on what you have written, you must hate us all, because we all remain Catholic, and we all continue to donate our time, treasure and talent to the Catholic Church.
Conflating the congregation and the leaders to obfuscate the point yet again. Intellectual dishonesty at it's finest. This has been pointed out to you before Randy. Your true morality is showing, again.

No, you're not, you are sheep - farm animals, with no choice other than obeying your masters.
Sure - you may kid yourselves all you like, but to anyone without a priest's d*ck in their anus - it's pretty clear how much actual say you have in the actual church business.

Then it's a good thing you don't have much of those things, especially the last one.

Have you met any fake priests? If you have, what gave them away?
People can desire the priesthood for any number of reasons that have nothing to do with having a legitimate vocation.
I have not met any "fake priests" - at least not to my knowledge - because there aren't any. Once a man is ordained, he IS a priest.
At issue is whether some that WERE ordained should have been.
This is less certain.
You are completely missing the point, people get the desire to be a priest because of the calling from Jesus - It doesn't matter how you try to put it - That's the truth.
Why do you say that someone might desire priesthood for any number of reasons? Can you state the "any number of reasons"?
I'd also like to know how you came to know about these "any number of reasons".

Well, I would imagine some get that "calling" because of all the choice alter boy booty.

This is too rich...
Oh god Randy, you are either too stupid or too ego-blind to realize that you are displaying for everyone here exactly why I won't engage with you any more.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I'd also like to know how you came to know about these "any number of reasons". People are that deluded. Concerning people and priesthood people legitimately think some higher being want's them to be a priest.
As for the other reasons simple money i mean look at how con artists use religion. There is multiple other reasons as well like catholic priests in the vatican.
Some use that position to spread hate and bigotry and that is just coming off the top of my head.

Look, I get it, if I had enabled molesters, I'd probably try to rationalize my support too. But I'm here to tell you that plenty of Catholics stood up and did the right thing, and stopped supporting such a diseased tree.
There are 1.2 billion of us Catholics, Parkers. Have we all enabled molesters?
If so, can you explain how we did this exactly? Did most of us even know it was occurring back in the 1950's, 1960's, 1970's, etc?

Parker didn't say that - if you actually read his post - and I wouldn't say that. One of the reasons being that right at my doorstep there's a grassroot organisation called "Wir sind Kirche" (We are the church). While I don't agree with them on their religious beliefs, I have nothing but the utmost respect for them. Consisting lay members as well as priests of the Catholic church. They are fighting the good fight. For gay rights and marriage, against religious bigotry and against brushing abuse under the carpet.
Without assuming to speak for Parker - what we have a problem with is the hierarchy brushing abuse under the carpet for decades. They now reap what they sowed - a massive fallout.
