Ahh the Ramones. I saw them back in 1993 at the Ritchey Collesium at MD state university. We were the first ones in the door and had front row seats next to the mosh pit. I ended up getting thrown in it and hurt my back. Not a fun night I can assure you.

Mosh pits are stupid and quite frankly dangerous. Still love the music. I had a friend in the DC music scene who knew the Ramones personally so he took me to the Bayou club in DC he took me back stage to meet them. All I could think was .........."Awesome, chicks and booze and PAR TAY!" Nope, soda and sandwiches and bottled water and listened to the short one, Johny? Is that right?, talk to my friend about his visit to his moms and finding a Mickey Mantel baseball card. Meh still had fun.

Orbital. The one time I saw them. 18th September 2009 at the Manchester Academy. Have the MP3 of the entire 2 hour performance, it came with a special Orbital USB stick.

From the exact performance:

Shit, when I saw AiC in 1993, the mosh pit was scary. Best show I've ever seen.

I hate him, well not really, but some people have a bad habit of being all ABBA about Jimmy Buffet.........

I frequented a college bar for a while  and the same idiots would load up the jukebox with the same 5 Buffet songs every time I was in there. Hypocrite you say? Why yes, I am.  Tongue

fear factory

Manchester England 1999 October the 27th I t was at one of the academies.

I think I was about 15 or 16.

And I wasn't even drinking, I was just standing there thinking what the fuck do people do here, do these metal heads really worship satan?  I wasn't even drinking.

If I could go back in time and see me and my friends there I'd find it hard not to shout "NEEEEERRRRRRRRRRDS" at the top of my voice as a natural reaction to how pathetic we probably looked.

I remember my friend telling me before the gig that if any of us wears any sports tops or anything like that then the metal heads would beat us up.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Three Dog Night (06/16/1972). I freaked out my parents and the parents of the three girls I had with me when I did not show up until 0630 the next day.

Yep, it's right next door to the Rose Garden (aka the Moda Center).

Reminds me of when I saw Pink Floyd in 1994 on an abandoned airfield. Got the tickets for free, since a couple just learned they were expecting their very first child and gave them to me. Scared of what the music might do to the unborn.
