If you say so.. I won't push any more as you're on such shaky ground already, I'd hate for you to completely topple over :p

I just completely toppled over, in fact I made a full backward flip as a result of excessive laughing.

Except for, well, everything that contradicts the observable reality. You might want to add that as some sort of disclaimer in the future, or else people might mistake you for some loony who believes the Earth was created in 6 days, rather than the slightly more rational loony that you are.

Should the supernatural not contradict observable reality then? I didn't think I had to explain that the bible wasn't a science text book. I guess there are some ignorant people around who might think that, so thanks for the heads up boss Wink

Not when it becomes observable.

You don't have to explain that a load of crap is no science book or contains any knowledge beyond what prehistoric peasants might know at all.

Yet when it becomes observable it ceases to be supernatural. I think you're about to implode Rabbit. Did you make a will?

annatar you can't deal for your salvation because salvation is a gift of Grace to be received. If you could deal for it you would have to make the deal with God, salvation is His and His alone to give, so making a deal with christians will do you no good. Apparently you are not being move by the Holy Spirit by the way you've presented yourself and this means you will not be receptive to the replies you might receive. This type of post has been presented before and the best that I can remember no christians responded. Why should we open ourselves to judgment when all you are trying to do is play games.

Salvation is achieved by works and accepting Jesus as your savior. Since your mind is already CLOSED, you should leave or find yourself an OPEN mind.

I believe in God because:
1- I have faith
2- I see evidence for God in my life, relationships and nature
3- I perceive God's influences as a part of reality
4- This is confirmed in other believers
5- This is confirmed by a multitude of various religious texts
6- I enjoy the sense of community
7- I see personal benefit from following Christianity
8- I see benefit to society from belief in God

probably more but that will suffice from the top of my head.

1, 2, and 3 might be the only reasons of yours that hold water.

Do you think that it ceases to be supernatural or are you quoting someone?
Don't know where that "implode" thing comes from fr0d0, are you having a bad day? Cheer up man, if you want me to implode I'll implode for you. Just ask so.

The disclaimer would end up being about as long as the book it's self.

Chasm John 3:16 For god so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that who so ever believe in Him should not perish but have ever lasting life. Where does this say anything about works and there are many more such statements. If you are going to make statements about the scriptures please do so correctly. I know and understand what I believe and that does not make me closed minded.
I do study some material written by nonbelievers and try to keep up with what's new on the evolution front not that I believe any of it I'm trying to learn all the time.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
