My understanding on swearing is as such.

1) To swear on someone who we think doesn't exist is something totally demented.

2) To swear on someone that we know it exist it make sense because you talk to some real entity
but at the same time it may well be asking for trouble so in both cases is a lose lose situation.

There are better ways to release your mental frustration.
Maybe ride a bike or drink a chamomile tea.   Lightbulb

I'm swearing on my backside that I'm sitting on. I'm doing everything else on my backside too. Well, until now I'm going to the fridge to get some mango juice now and then I'm sitting on my backside again. Then in all likelihood I'm swearing on it exclaiming "FUCK! I loveeee mango juice!".

There is a problem with talking to someone who doesn't exist.
After some time people turn demented.
I look after a lot of demented people as a nurse and believe me

I've always been demented. Does me no harm.

It's just a habit to say "Oh my God!" and "God damnit" and shit and that doesn't change just because you're an atheist. Don't need to take things literally LR.
