Killing a god is as easy as realizing it is merely a product of human's imagination. The hard part is getting to the point you realize it is all crap. Takes some longer than others, and some are so drunk on wishful thinking they never leave. But once you are there, it is easy.
True. I was just referencing;
Judges 1:19 King James Version (KJV)
19 And the Lord was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.
You make people miserable and there's nothing they can do about it, just like god.

God has no place within these walls, just as facts have no place within organized religion.

Science is like a blabbermouth who ruins a movie by telling you how it ends. There are some things we don't want to know. Important things.

So he cannot be all powerful, or the idiots who wrote that stupid story didn't understand the bad logic they were using to create the moral motif of the story. I'd say this god does not exist, and this is yet another example of flawed logic in the bible. But, when you have nothing you can always cop out to "metaphor".

Thanks, GC. That one made me laugh out loud.
I get that it was tongue in cheek, but for a moment I thought of you being utterly serious as you wrote that; And it was hysterical.
I'm glad to see someone understood what was written. As I was writing the words of Jesus came to mind when Peter was rebuked by Jesus.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Going "My god is real because i believe in him".
I could sit there and believe that i have a million pounds, for as long as i want, wouldn't change that i don't. And you didn't ask a question, so i can't answer it.
Yes I did in post #85, I'm guessing you have no answer.
I do not sit around believing there is a God, in our personal relationship God as He promised has proven himself to me. To have a relationship both parties have to be active.

GC To make the same point that everyone else has asked you; How did he prove himself to you? Just saying "He did" is not a response to that. It's a sign that you obviously lack an answer that wouldn't get you laughed out the room.

Ha ha...I get rebuked a couple of times a week myself; Cracks me up every time.
The melodrama kills me!
I should've done some rebuking of my own when I believed.
There's really no reason why I can't now, actually.

I don't deny that theists have a very personal relationship with "God", it's just that "God" lives entirely in their imagination. They project it so as to appear to be a separate entity.
Whether they literally see it, I couldn't say. I imagine probably not, most of the time. Maybe the odd hallucination, which can happen to anyone. But the mind is powerful, they may really convince themselves they see and hear things that aren't there. No doubt there are a lot of emotions involved, which act as reassurance and even "communication". They no doubt see patterns everywhere which they assign meaning to.
It hears them, it answers them however they want it to, and it always agrees with them. (Except the people who kill themselves because of how much they think God despises them.)
Psychology owns God.

Humans make up all god claims, they always have. Claims of gods are merely placebos, place cards that project their own narcissism and insecurities in an attempt to justify a fictional utopia and a "forever" that does not exist. It is not a "gene" as some would call it, it is a flaw in our species evolution born out of ignorance.
Jews and Muslims and Hindus and Buddhists and Christians, and Shintos and every club now, and every dead religion in the past, are really nothing more than the artificial excuses humans create to set up social pecking orders. No, it isn't that you can force any religion out of existence. But our species understanding has progressed and given us much better tools to understand reality without myth making and the idea of the super natural keeps getting killed when challenged to a lab.

I've given people the answers, didn't you believe them. Answered prayer undeniably and unquestionably answered by God. I had no answer to the question and no way to get one, no one knew what I prayed and that eliminated outside influence. If this is not acceptable to you then I have nothing else to give you, there's one thing I want do is lie, not to you or anyone no reason to when one is happy with what he knows is right and true.
