Catholics went past it. At some point they noticed it isn't excellent publicity and so they changed it. Not that long ago, since when I was a child, we still had to deal with the burning part. Which, for me, was one of the first dealbreakers when it came to a loving god.

Oh really? Catholics dissolved hell? That's interesting. Is it just some lesser hell now, or annihilation, or just no heaven for you?

Far as I know it, it's the absence of god. No annihilation, just going somewhere where god isn't present. Which, according to theiir believes, is the worst punishment.

Not that I expect logic and consistency from the geriatric pedophiles in pointy hats, but since god is supposed to be omnipresent, doesn't that imply, that a place where god is not present doesn't exist? And therefore anyone sent over there would be in fact wiped from existence.
