Losty,

Do you think it was possible in World War 2 to prevent all the Allied soldiers from death ?  Do you not think it was inevitable that many Allied soldiers died ?

If one was being murdered in front of me I would try to stop it. If anyone ever was being murdered in front of me I would try to stop it. Period. Anyone who would stand by and watch a murder is morally bankrupt.

I'm pretty sure I would have. I never liked the idea of an innocent person being murdered in the place of the guilty. If the punishment is just, then a responsible adult shouldn't fear paying for their own misdeeds. It also helped that my church didn't focus much on fire and brimstone hell, so being burned alive for all eternity wasn't something that kept me up at night.

I would have gotten him down, and talked to him about convincing his dad to give up on this whole hell and blood sacrifice thing. As well as a bunch of other stuff. I know some christians feel that Jesus and Yahweh were the same person in different forms, but I believed they were separate people when I was a christian.

Losty,

It may be thought that what I put was part of the story of Jesus regardless of who believes or not.

Do you think in the story Jesus didn't choose to die ?

Pretty sure there's a verse saying he didn't. He was obedient, but not willing. The whole "let this cup pass from me" verse.

Losty,

You may think that in the story of Jesus it was his choice die for the benefit of all mankind and that in the story he rose from the dead to live forever after momentary suffering in comparison.

Do you think a parent of a child should be willing to die for the sake of that child if in danger ?

Does saving Jesus also save Judas from exploding his intestines in an eruption of viscera and poo ??
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Do you think a parent should allow his child to suffer and be murdered to stop said parent from eternally torturing everyone ever? Do you think that's good parenting?
