Your friend tells you they're a paedophile
RE: Your friend tells you they're a paedophile
Quote: Personally I'd rather someone molested a dead body than a child.

Unless they killed the person first in order to have sex with them, which has happened. Man Found Guilty Of Killing, Then Sexually Abusing Stepdaughter. Necrophiles who act upon their desires are worse than pedophiles who do. Pedophiles who act upon their desires aren't out to kill people. I suppose somebody could go grave-robbing and then have sex that way. Either way is worse. In both cases, I want people to seek therapy. I think I've said all I wanted to say on this. Not something I like to think about personally.

Why do we Brits (well not me, I use the American spelling) put an "a" in pAedophile? What does this "a" do? It's not said "paydophile"

Wtf how is that worse? How is necrophilia worse than pedophillia? (Hint: It isn't. Pedophillia is much worse than necrophillia).

They're both disgusting urges but seriously... if someone acted on both of those urges. What's really worse? Dead people can't suffer but children certainly can.

This video here is comedy, yes, and really necrophillia does do harm because of how it affects other people (not the dead person, they can't feel)... but seriously... how is a desire for that comparable to pedophillia? We're not talking about which is most disgusting here, both are disgusting, we're talking about which desire would be most immoral if acted on.

I don't think most people understand that human sexuality is on a continuum. Especially not the people in this thread.

Some people are 100% Heterosexual, others are 100% Homosexual, and still others are 100% Asexual. Or a combination thereof. People can also have a sexual orientation to children AND adults, or to adults only, or to children only. Paedophilia is the sexual attraction to prepubescent children. No doubt a strong sense of morality helps to alleviate some of the sexual attraction, but like with homosexuality you can't expect that alone to prevent it. People have been expressing homosexuality throughout the centuries even in cultures where they themselves felt it was morally wrong.

Condescension, and the implication that sex between consenting adults is immoral and somehow comparable to sex with a child.

Welcome back to my ignore list, I see you've made no progress. These days gay do not generally consider their urges immoral, unless they are raised by people like you.

It's not just a sense of morality. It's the knowledge that you'll be destroying someone's life forever just for a moment of gratification. That and the threat of jail and ostracization.

To be a pedophile "unable" to control yourself with those two things in mind is to be a moral monster, otherwise I can't see how someone who would have so little or no control over their actions would be able to pass as normal, talk about their issues and have the the mental balance required to plan the act, if it comes to that. That is bullshit, IMO.

What I meant was is somebody kills a person for the purposes of necrophillia is worse. If somebody simply has sex with a dead person, yes, that's not worse. In my post after that I linked to a news article about a man who killed his step-daughter and, only after she was dead, did he have sex with her.

Huffington Post:
Man Found Guilty Of Killing, Then Sexually Abusing Stepdaughter
Quote:“We know she died of a gunshot wound and we haven’t excluded necrophilia as a possible motive in the killing,” Morganelli told The Morning Call. “His possible motive was to have a sexual relationship with the body.”

I want to be as rational as possible, but I can't deny that if this really happened, it'd be hard to be. I would've probably distanced myself from that person or maybe slowly cut contact? I just really dislike the idea of this situation, and at the same time it sucks that it wouldn't be their choice. I would be civil though, of course.

That is just not true.

I answer A to every question. I'm sure there is some room in this world for sympathy for these people, but not from me. I wouldn't cause them any harm as long as they truly didn't do anything to harm my children, or any other children for that matter. They would have to leave my house and I would probably notify all the other parents I knew in the neighborhood or whatever.

I have NO mercy or sympathy for people who harm kids or have fantasies about harming kids. NONE. That's the most I feel comfortable saying on that subject.

But no, this is not something I could tolerate, even if it was just in their head.
“Love is the only bow on Life’s dark cloud. It is the morning and the evening star. It shines upon the babe, and sheds its radiance on the quiet tomb. It is the mother of art, inspirer of poet, patriot and philosopher.

It is the air and light of every heart – builder of every home, kindler of every fire on every hearth. It was the first to dream of immortality. It fills the world with melody – for music is the voice of love.

Love is the magician, the enchanter, that changes worthless things to Joy, and makes royal kings and queens of common clay. It is the perfume of that wondrous flower, the heart, and without that sacred passion, that divine swoon, we are less than beasts; but with it, earth is heaven, and we are gods.” - Robert. G. Ingersoll
