You forgot West Side Story for being a modern version of Romeo and Juliet. But, they weren't portraying modern political figures being assassinated. And here is the final scene of Coriolanus where a current poilitical figure gets assassinated. The figure represented a mixture of eastern European despots during the 90s unrests.

Ok let me rephrase what I said so I don't offend the theatre wankers.
There is a play involving someone who looks like Donald Trump being assassinated, I can see why it may be considered to be risky because it involves assasinating someone who seems to be somewhat of a likeness of the currant president.
And to restate again, yeh so what? I liked a song a while ago by the offspring called kill the president. I do think it should be allowed.
I said it in my first post.

The "so what" doesn't have anything to do with whether or not it "should be allowed". OFC it's allowed it's fucking shakespeare. We've been putting it on for awhile now......
The so what is simple. The play does not call for the assassination of trump, and the whole point of the play is that the assassination that does happen was a very bad idea™. Trumpsters decided to make noise about this one...either hoping that the audience to which they were squaking was ignorant at a middle school level..or they themselves were. This is the nature of the trumpsters being oppressed, being left behind by america.
It's not something that anyone is doing -to- them.
