Which Jesus is real?

For as many cultures there are as many Jesus'.

There's a black Jesus for the African American community.
There's a Spanish Jesus for the Mexican community.
There's a Caucasian Jesus for the white community.
Etc, etc, etc.

Would the real Jesus please stand up?

With so many different cultures viewing Jesus as the non-white, supposed "superior white" Jesus, how is one to know which is the correct Jesus?

With a god who is supposed to be so powerful, one would think he could straighten out who Jesus is.

If Jesus cannot be considered the white version through ministry, what is the purpose of ministry?

The problem with ministry is that it thinks it changes the culture, yet perhaps it doesn't.

The Asian Jesus agrees.

Ministry certainly destroys cultures, but replaces it with the culture's own version of Jesus.

How is that in accordance with Christianity?

It is not.

It must certainly piss of the white Christians.

In the end, no Jesus is real.  Jesus is a fictional character perpetuated by a religion that thinks it has the world's best interest in mind when in fact it merely wants control of the world through religious belief.

Chronologically, Apostle Paul isn't that far removed from Jesus, is he??

And yet we are seeing enormous drift from what Jesus established as canon.

I don't think Paul ever personally met Jesus, wasn't his exposure to His ministry via persecution of His followers, and not any disciples??


Grave concerns should exist over what Paul did, if not outright condemnation for vile heresy, and yet we are seeing the start of a third millennia of Paul's grotesque hijacking of the religion OF Jesus.

What we can be almost absolutely sure of, is that whatever the historical basis for Jesus, that person or persons would not even get close to recognising the version of Jesus that the vast majority of Christians believe in.

Oh, no doubt about it. Since the Jesus most Christians worship is Paul's Jesus and since that Jesus would have been anathema to any observant Jew of the day (hint: Jesus), there's no way he would have recognized himself in the spiteful, failed Pharisee's portrait.

I'm reminded of one of my favorite moments in The Last Temptation of Christ when Jesus comes across Paul preaching his own version of the good news. Jesus protests that he didn't die and that Paul is lying about him and his ministry. Paul fixes Jesus with a satisfied gaze and says, "I'm glad I met you. Now I can forget all about you," before resuming his false ministry to the Gentiles.

On a side note, I love that Scorsese cast Harry Dean Stanton as Paul in the film. Somehow, he strikes me as the perfect choice to play religion's greatest used car salesman.

And the wrong one won.

Poor Jesus, took the fucking cross for His trouble, and then Apostle Paul waltzes in and subverts the whole operation.  Shameful, really.  And sad.  No one beyond the 12 disciples and the folks persecuted by Paul during his 'Saul' persona were actually doing the Jesus religion correctly.

EVERYONE ELSE IS DOING IT WRONG.
