Replacing Christianity with Islam

The question is really the King Asa problem.  When there are different religions there are conflicts.  So simply get rid of every religion except one and there will be peace.  It really doesn't matter which religion is the survivor as long as it is the sole survivor.  And everyone will have to follow the specific denomination of the surviving religion.

Voltaire didn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.  He only had to cope with Catholics and Protestsants. They had tried to exterminate each other.  Look at current events.  Things haven't improved with more religions in the neighborhood.

This question was raised in another thread so I figured I'd start a poll so there wouldn't be any assumptions. This question is for atheists only.  


If you could, would you replace all of Christianity with Islam right now? 

If that was the binary choice, no. Indeed, I would not press a magic button to rid the world of religion and all memory of it, because the world is not ready for that yet. Someone would just invent new religions.

On second thought maybe I WOULD press the button because if religion were invented today it would probably be in some ways less ignorance-based, exclusivist and rigid, and therefore on the whole less toxic. Most of modern religion is a holdover from far more primitive and out of touch ancient religion. A reboot might well be an improvement.

Nah, the protestants are giants d-bags.  At least the catholics don't believe.  If we replaced islam with catholicism then the world would be full of a bunch of socialites who dress up and go to church on holidays - sometimes.

Here's why the question is nonsensical, at least in my view. It's akin to asking would you like to replace cancer with AIDS, or depression with anxiety, or a broken leg with a broken arm. Neither is particularly appealing, or welcome, and one would be better off with none of the above.

According to the 7th Commandment the requirement is just three days a year.

If it was a choice between the Sufism that Richard Thompson practices and the more batshit brands of Christianity, I might consider it.

Of course, this all raises the question of how and why one can or would do such a thing.
