1.5" of rain in the last 24 hours here in Spicewood, but parts of Austin have gotten seven or eight inches.

Reminds me of a scene from a movie about 'Nam. Corpsman is trying to match up body parts to be bagged and comes to one guy with no head. His dogtags went with the head and the Doc can't ID him. In frustration he yells at the NCO:

"One dogtag on the chain, the other on the shoelaces! Damnit, how am I going to tag this fool!"

Urgh. We've had 13" of rain so far where I live. The side of my yard is full of standing water and we don't expect the rain to stop until Wednesday. Maybe I should start digging a trench for drainage.

I know what it is like to lose a loved one, so you can feel for the family members, manor of death doesn't change the pain of loss. . As far as those stuck, I hope they all make it out safely. And I hope FEMA has the funding to help everyone who lost their houses.

Topography is favorable for that? Where would it drain too? Don't want to bless a neighbor with your run-off. Or do you?  Popcorn
