WASHINGTON — President Trump’s decision to impose his updated travel ban on Chad came over the objections Pentagon and State Department officials, who argued that alienating the nation, one of America’s more reliable counterterrorism allies in Africa, risked harming long-term national security interests, administration officials said on Tuesday.

At the Pentagon, several Defense officials expressed anger that years of close work could be jeopardized by what one characterized as a “casual” process that failed to take into account America’s long-term interests in the region.

Current and former officials at the United States Africa Command, which works closely with the Chadian military to fight Islamic extremists in north and central Africa, said they could not explain the inclusion and referred inquiries to the White House. Carter Ham, a retired general who formerly headed the Africa Command, called the decision to put Chad on the list “puzzling.”

It isn't a matter of new blood in politics, but a matter of having ANYONE who knows what the fuck they are doing. Being rich and knowing how to con people isn't a political skill outside of a con. Knowing economic and diplomatic history and having empathy for others is what makes a good leader. Acting like Jerry Springer isn't a tactic, it is stupid and dangerous.

You cannot run a country like a private business, and you cant privatize everything for that matter. New political pools can be good because that can bring progress. 45 isn't advocating progress, he is advocating more gas on the fire, more tax breaks for the rich, more divisions between race and class. None of what that fucker is doing is diplomatic in the slightest.
