glob..

Stupid people should be made/FORCED to understand there are always multiple perspectives. And while no one is compelling the BSA to accept girls, the BSA is indeed FORCING all of it's affiliates to accept this new rule. meaning no one is able to opt out.. Do you now understand moron?

Did you read the statement they made? They said that existing packs can CHOOSE what to do:

"Existing packs may choose to establish a new girl pack, establish a pack that consists of girl dens and boy dens or remain an all-boy pack. Cub Scout dens will be single-gender — all boys or all girls."

http://www.scoutingnewsroom.org/press-re...gle-scout/

Read the source once in a while.

So please explain how a 'free market' have anything to do with a non-profit traditionally Christian organization???

Oh, so sorry, you're OK with business making their own decisions but when it comes to non-profits they have to abide by your own morality. Gotcha. Whether an organization is non-profit or not, they should be able to make their own decisions about what they do, provided it's not illegal.

What the problem is?

What the problem is...

I can't get over how that is phrased.

Um maybe the problem is we didn't get obstacle courses.

Quote:We GET to sell cookies? Like it's an honor to sell those things? Cookie sales were the most stressful time of the year. You were pushed to sell them with the threat that you wouldn't get to do anything fun if you didn't sell a lot. But hey don't go door to door because of bad people yo. If you didn't have a parent that could rock the selling game at work you got to sell cookies in the freaking cold (because for some stupid reason they thought February was a great time to put little girls outside selling shit) in front of Walmart or Blockbuster (Auto Zone if your troop got lucky) Don't get me started on the merit badges. Let me say this again; I got actual badges for painting nails and learning to braid. Literally nothing I learned in girl scouts, mind you I was in the system from 5 to 17 with only one year break because my mom was deployed, would ever be helpful on transcripts. The only thing that was helpful for college was the volunteer work at the half way houses and soup kitchens.
Calling B/S on this one.

I would wheel the wagon around to help her deliver the cookies (in them days you had to order on a sheet with pics and then like 6 weeks later they'd send out the cookies. the great thing about that? we'd forget where 1/2 the cookies went, so ate what we could not place. The same thing when we went door to door selling candels and knives for the school. usally by the end of the program we had a ton of stuff we could not place. and kept it! so don't tell me my sisters and I were the only one eating free cookies[/quote]

How are you going to call BS on something that I actually experienced? And which part are you calling bs? Also how old are you? The difference between what you saw vs what I did with my troop may vary simply due to time difference.

1. We do NOT have slavery in the US like we used to. Black people ARE free. Slavery on the black market or in other countries was not my point at all.
2. Yeah I don't care about human suffering at all and I just adore black Friday /sarcasm I love your assumptions. Although they are bad assumptions. A good one would be hey she is complaining that she had to do girly stuff so it would make sense that she doesn't like other girly stuff like shopping.

What you are describing is a potential momma's boy. momma's boys can treat ladies well, but can fail in every other part of society. Teating women is only one part of 1000 other skills that boy scouts were challenged to master.

Hm?

No one said treating women right should be the only thing a boy learns in scouts. We've all said that it should be an *added* important element.

Listen, I believe in masculinity and femininity. I believe it is important to teach boys how to be good men and to teach girls how to be good women. I believe the 2 sexes are different and each bring unique, complimentary characteristics. No one is saying men and women are homogenous, if that's part of your objection.

Can you explain exactly which activities will teach boys how to be good men that can't be done if girls are included in scouts?
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Ummmm.

I accept slavery still exists in the modern world.

I think it's as evil now as ever.

But...The bible never condemns it, only condones.

We have moved on morally since then, even if we haven't cured all societal problems.

And it is religion that restricts moral growth more than anything IMHO.

You're such a fucktard, you pathetic piece of human bile.  If you had half a brain, you'd have four times the amount of brain you have now.
"Tradition" is just a word people use to make themselves feel better about being an asshole.

One might almost think their are lots of kiddy fiddlers in frocks then? That can't be true, they are all so saved and full of grace and humble and charitable.

Cocksuckers. All too literally.

Wow.  So do you think boys have a particular nature, or do you think you have to build in the kinds of dispositions and biases you associate with boys?  So weird.  Pretty sure there is no merit badge for "teating women" either.
