It was 'only' 57 megatons without the tertiary DU stage.

It would have been easily over 100 MT with it.  In US designs, the tertiary DU stage has increased yield by a factor of 3, BTW, the Soviets were only claiming their device would double in strength with DU.

The very largest hydrogen fusion bombs require literally tons of DU to function.  Curiously, the widely reviled and castigated neutron bomb of the early 1980s is essentially a 'small' fusion bomb, without a DU tertiary stage.  The idea being the copious neutrons emitted are utilized to kill people (and leave material objects relatively less damaged) instead of triggering fission in a DU 'blanket' around the device to multiply the yield.

How much DU ordinance would it take to equal the carnage from a 50-100 MT detonation as envisioned in this map ??

After all this fun, a question materializes for you Atlas.  You stated that The Great Satan was the terrorist in this, that we do what they do...

Should I take that to mean that you believe terrorists choose their munitions to minimize collateral damage and civilian casualties...and then accept responsibility for the cleanup of whatever ords they select after action?

The world of humanity fought a great was that killed 60 million people. That war was approximately before 80 years. In it; humans belonging to one of the clashing governments invented a type of weapons called "the atomic bomb/nuclear bomb". The weapons was so destructive; it could whole city off the face of earth.

That civilization deployed the weapons twice; and soon after the end of the great war, the mighty of the clashing governments manufactured their own versions of the weapon.

80 years into the future; humans also invented intercontinental javelins that could carry the nuclear bomb to almost anywhere; with the ability to launch it from everywhere including from below the surface of the oceans.

The above is not a Sci-Fi novel introduction. The above is the nightmare we live in today.

Any moment now; this destructive javelin exchange can happen. But governments of this age, keep attacking the weak people who don't even own a pistol, with charges like "terrorism". Ironically; the owner of the javelins of mass extinction is attacking people; and when they revolt he calls them terrorists.

The enemy was always, and always will be the demon that sparked hate and despise between people. The enemy will always be that who justified the use of these dirty weapons. The enemy will always be that who cheered for false pride in nations and flags. Sometimes the enemy is nobody but us.

You will destroy the world. You will destroy earth. The one became two. The two will defiantly become three. When three happens; you will be gone. Just like this clip:

Well look at the good news.  You can't get to heaven or paradise unless you're dead and since people want to spend eternity with their favorite deity why worry about getting vaporized by nukes?  Just hope for a direct hit and you won't feel a thing.

But even in the more open pluralistic west even we have our problems and we have our nuts bent on religious based holy book based bat shittery. <----That part is serious, not sarcastic.

China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and America, including all other nations, not enough humans want to understand we are not a separate species. Our respective powers are all part of the same global market and unfortunately ideology sells , fear sells and war sells. It is up to the sane to constantly point this out and combat this.

I don't blame human ancestors worldwide for not knowing better. You are not responsible for what your ancestors did 1400 years ago, anymore than I am responsible for what my ancestors did 1900 years ago. Nor are today's Chinese responsible for what Chairman Mo did.

But I do agree that if an individual who values non violence and compassion, it is certainly up to all worldwide whom value that, to remember the past and demand we avoid the horrors of the past.

As a serious note; the Middle East is not at all Islamic; or even close to represent the past Ottoman Islamic caliphate. This is a new post World War 2 world; a world so different than the one that fought the first world war.

The east is a colony for the highest payer; governments here literally treat its people as enemies; the torture videos and the aftermath of the Arab spring are examples of what this region has become.

The west (after losing 60 Million people in a global world war caused by the west itself) learned its lesson: so many people in the west adapted the so called "illumination" which was a result of the French revolution 200 years before the great war; I think westerners picked that path over the religious path, because obviously Christianity and Judaism did them nothing to stop the 60 Million deaths.

The Middle East got crushed between the fighting super-powers, the conclusion was that so many people copy-cat the west blindly to get what the west has now.

The west might have its nuts; but it's the one calling the shots in this world of today. The west is the victorious faction in WW2 with Hitler and the USSR gone; the east is just a follower that has no saying. Usually; the agony of the Ottoman empire's defeat makes some Muslims blow themselves from anger.

Yeah, not letting you get away with that.  There is a world of difference between radioactive weapons and nuclear weapons.  Bullets and armour made from depleted uranium can in no rational sense be classified as 'nuclear weapons'.

Looks pretty nuclear to me

Yes I saw the Trump explanation on thermonuclear war.
Apparently it would be a bad thing.
Who knew.

It's complicated!

DU rounds are explicitly used for their greater penetrative profile. If we wanted to irradiate or poison people..we have better weapons to do that with.  Their use in the middle east was largely -not- tank busting, but shooting through concrete reenforced firing positions.  With a DU round, you can hit the people on one floor without risking the people on the next, or in the next room..for that matter.  You have to worry about or accept damage to buildings or people -behind- the target, but them's the breaks.  Famously, Iraqi tanks in desert storm tried to use busted tanks for cover, but the du 120 smoothbore fired through the dead tanks and hit the target behind.

The choice facing a du user is thus;

Take fire from an enemy rpg, blast the room with du, or take down the entire building with he.  In order to reduce collateral damage, including civilian casualties, du is preferred over he (obviously letting some asshole fling rockets at you is a non-option).  The problem, after action, with du rounds isn't so much that they're radioactive, it's that they're poisonous - like all heavy metal rounds.

It's understandable to use poisonous material like Uranium to produce more lethal weaponry; let it be Depleted Uranium shells or simple poison arrows.
The better weapons will attract lots of attention; just like Chemical weapons like nerve gas.

Using Depleted Uranium despite its radioactive properties points in the best cases to apathy about Iraqi civilian casualties. A racist consequence seen practiced one time after the other after the other, from Abu-Ghuraib prison to the battle of Falluga, the blind airstrikes, and testemonies of American soldiers of the brutalities done to civilians and prisoners. It's like dropping two birds with one stone: penetration+ poising of enemies.

Apathy and neglecting of the consequences of one bad use of lethal weapons and methods of war. A crime against the enemies and the American soldiers themselves.

From the link you provided:

Quote:When fired, or after "cooking off" in fires or explosions, the exposed depleted uranium rod poses an extremely low radiological threat as long as it remains outside the body. Taken into the body via metal fragments or dust-like particles, depleted uranium may pose a long-term health hazard to personnel if the amount is large. However, the amount which remains in the body depends on a number of factors, including the amount inhaled or ingested, the particle size and the ability of the particles to dissolve in body fluids.

If I'm understanding this probably; then wind and sand storms can carry the particles to nearby towns. The Abram tanks fire Silver Bullets (DU shells); their armor also have DU. Iraq is a desert environment, with lots of wind and sand storms.

And why would that matter? they are terrorists already, and nobody expects mercy from them, unlike the tank that came as a liberator, but fired radioactive "democracies" knowing it will hurt people, under the excuse of Saddam having invisible W.M.Ds. Iraq turned into a shithole after the American invasion; and every person is saying it.

If it was Islamic; it would've became something similar to the first Islamic system under prophet Mohammed peace be upon him. Human rights won't be chopped, wealth won't be in the bellies of fatcats and bandits. It won't be like Iraq or Saudi Arabia or ISIS.

DU shells aren't more lethal, they're less lethal because they are more effective, that was the entire point of their use - which was explained to you in the portion you quoted.

.....sure, or they're used to reduce civilian casualties as the effective alternative option to more lethal he rounds.

Quote:Apathy and neglecting of the consequences of one bad use of lethal weapons and methods of war. A crime against the enemies and the American soldiers themselves.
We also do cleanup, the du rounds being less of a problem than small arms or unmapped uxo (read, shit enemy combatants leave behind as a parting gift) on that count....and just like everything else, this has already been explained to you.

Quote:And why would that matter? they are terrorists already, and nobody expects mercy from them, unlike the tank that came as a liberator, but fired radioactive "democracies" knowing it will hurt people, under the excuse of Saddam having invisible W.M.Ds. Why would it matter?  You're the one trying to compare the use of du rounds to "what terrorists do"..so either the terrorists are some pretty decent motherfuckers in your mind...or...your comparison is inept.

Quote:If it was Islamic; it would've became something similar to the first Islamic system under prophet Mohammed peace be upon him. Human rights won't be chopped, wealth won't be in the bellies of fatcats and bandits. It won't be like Iraq or Saudi Arabia or ISIS.
The "first islamic system" would have reminded you greatly of ISIS.  You've mythologized the origins of the umma. I was under the impression that you were aware the Imams were full of shit......?
