That doesn't dampen my enthusiasm for trying it on remarried divorced Christians, however.

Gotta wonder just how badly Trump, Limbaugh, Gingrich and the rest want to remain married to their subsequent wives.

Probably could of condensed that to a single paragraph.

That guy can't really be the first openly gay us male figure skater in the Olympics. That doesn't sound right at all.

Charity is wasted on a weasel.  It's what you extend -before- a person repeatedly outs themselves as a complete dirtbag even as they refuse to out themselves as flamingly homosexual...not after.

How about no and we base our conclusion on the persons clear homophobic political agenda .

As I said previously, I don't know a lot about Pence.   So I decided to check out what it is that is the bases for this claim of conversion therapy support that deserves such condemnation.

It seems that most places point to just one thing.   The following from his 2000 campaign website.

Quote:"Congress should support the reauthorization of the Ryan White Care Act only after completion of an audit to ensure that federal dollars were no longer being given to organizations that celebrate and encourage the types of behaviors that facilitate the spreading of the HIV virus. Resources should be directed toward those institutions which provide assistance to those seeking to change their sexual behavior."
Politifact

Someone wrote in to add "Indeed, promoting safer sexual behaviour is a common intervention strategy in the fight against HIV/AIDS," reader Justin Goddard of Ontario, Canada, said in an email.

People also cite Pences record of voting against "gay rights"

Now to go from this, to saying that he supports some of the horrible practices described by Dr. Fuzzy is just flat out wrong in my opinion. If there is more; that I'm missing then show me, but this appears to be going well beyond the facts to demonize someone.  Someone can believe that homosexual activity is wrong, or that we should not have re-defined marriage for homosexuals, and it's not about hate.  You don't have to agree with them, and you are free to think they are wrong.  However if this is the basis for the outrage i'm seeing... I don't think the problem is with Pence.

Your response led me to read some of Pence's legislation, and yes, most of it was craftily worded.  And his media spin people have been loudly stating that the Politifact quote above only addresses normal routes of therapy, and certainly not forced incarceration.  And his people will keep protesting, and the left will keep saying that he's a rabid homophobe.
He can easily, easily fix this.  He could do it today.  Meet with Rippon and declare on camera that he's going to support gay marriage and gay rights from this point out, and that he regrets all off the discriminatory legislation that he previously supported. Then he needs to get busy and back up his words.  Simple.

It's not, though.

You are showing your Christian privilege.

If you support the idea that some people don't deserve the same rights as you because they don't share your religious belief, there is no way you can spin that to merely a difference of opinion. The whole "redefining marriage" gambit has been debunked over and over. Marriage is a civil benefit in America. It is profoundly unconstitutional to deny that benefit to people based on the religious beliefs of some.

If you were a politician in the 1960s and were one of those clamoring that we should not 'redefine marriage' so that black and white people could freely marry, then you'd be just as susceptible to being labelled a bigot.

This idea that the principle that some people are not worthy of equal treatment is not merely a difference of opinion, it is a plague upon a civil society that must be met with the harshest of public rebuke. Mike Pence has repeatedly shown that he supports legislation that would allow for the debasement of an entire group of people based on his religious belief. That makes him a bigot, and that makes his "nice" offer of support a farce, and intolerable.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

And what are to make of Pence casting a blind eye to conduct in his peer group that he knows is reprehensible ??

Can't he witness the Word to Republicans ?? Do they get a pass somehow ?? Scripturally, how does that work ??

I hope this isn't going to be as complicated as trying to explain the Trinity . . . . .

It's not, actually...for whatever reason he sees them in pawns in gods game and imagines that he has a higher station and purpose.
