It sounds like you may be pushing your hatred and intolerance onto others?   I think that there is a lot of issues with reasoning here.  but I don't think that any of that justifies mis-represeniting those you oppose.

All you do is disguise your hate.  You don't want it called that because you know it looks bad.  It's all about optics.  You can't possibly NOT hate someone if you want to prevent them from legally marrying another consenting adult.  Hate is the only reason.  You can hold your faith up as a shield.  But it's not going to work.  The optics don't work.  People have eyes.  They see the truth.

Yes you do road supporting anti LGBT policies is by definition bigotry . And yes i also think you just hide it . No pro LGBT person would use scare quotes on rights or use the term gay agenda . Sorry that's pretty obvious .

Opposing bigotry is not intolerance. You don't know what that fucking word means .

That Federalist article sure was a lot of spin, that's for sure. A Flock of Seagulls would've been proud.

This part:

Quote:In reality, Pence went out of his way to modify a religious freedom bill in 2015 as governor of Indiana to ensure no discrimination towards gay people.

Is especially hilarious, given that Pence only did that after a national outcry which featured boycotts/threats of boycotts of the state. So, no, Pence didn't sign the anti-discrimination portion of the bill out of the goodness of his heart, or because of any deep conviction. He did it because of PR reasons and economic pressures. That he signed the bill without such protections in place says a hell of a lot more about him than fixing it after the fact when it was clear his state was going to suffer economically because of it.

The Ryan White Care Act dance is also farcical. Such groups at the time were already stressing the importance of safe sex, and doing things like offering free condoms. And, again, Pence has had ample opportunity to flat out say "I don't support - and have never supported - conversion therapy." He's, instead, always danced around the issue.

So, who's misinformed again? I have a pretty clear idea.

Sorry, does that fall outside of your echo chamber?   If you have something to contest about the content, then please do.   But if you just want to go round and round with the genetic fallacy... I don't really have any interest.

I'm sorry, that is a false dichotomy.  There is no correlation, which makes what you are saying the case with must be true.  I think you are seeing what you want to see.

I don't hate gay people in any sense of the word (that I know of)... Perhaps you have redefined that word as well, perhaps so the optics don't work!    I think you see what you want to see.

Would you be okay if people wanted to outlaw Christian Marriages?    Would you think that those people didn't hate you?

Nope it's not a false dichotomy. Saying you don't hate gay people then denying them the right to marry the person they love is hatred . As hateful as telling a black person you don't hate them but refuse to let them drink from the same fountain .The fact you use ideology as justification changes nothing. You can't say one without the other .

Saying you don't hate them then deny them the same protections as other minorities same case .

The Pink article cited previously also had a lot of spin also....

Also, as I said, I'm just learning about Pence right now.  So I'm willing to hear facts and reason.   The emotionally charged rhetoric that was started with, not so much (especially when it is based on little to nothing).  In reality I think that making a determination about someones motives is much more complicated than either blurb.
