Hold up, didn't you just discombobulate yourself with your mental gymnastics on atheist / atheism?

Had me like...

Yet I resisted the spirit of pettiness and let it go, you must feel the need to get clowned i guess..

Huggy, if there's room alongside your head, you can stick your red herrings up your arsehole.

Oh, and fuck off you sad little twat.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I don't believe there is a god generally because I see no substantial evidence such a being exists. And one would think such a powerful and consequeial being would be as obvious as gravity, death, light, and taxes.

As for the Christian God in particular, any system that values faith over proof, and Christianity especially in the gospels really really does, lacks evidence.

More anecdotally, at the tender age of fiveish I listened to a sermon about the flood and a thought popped into my head. Why do grownups believe this. I never found a good answer.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god.  If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

Interesting assumption in the OP that there is only one major intellectual issue stopping us from being christians. It's like assuming that we are just unfortunately mistaken about only one thing.

Instead of being correct about many things.   Tongue

Funny how they assume that *we're* the ones who got it wrong, when they believe in barmy things like people coming back from the dead...

I think the main intellectual issue, is that I have thoughts.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I think the OP ghosted us. Hopefully having a spiritual crisis, or thoughts of his own.
