It's because they think the world is but a prop and the masses are just extras whose trials and tribulations are the backstory in god's plans for you. Can't really get mad at god if he goes to all the trouble to have millions gassed just to make an important point. If you look hard enough at their rules, most major sects of christianity (including rome) still hold the YEC position to be valid. It's just most don't talk about it.

Big thread so maybe I missed this, but I'd think a major source of anxiety for all believers would be an overwhelming concern about 'doing it' correctly. Like, is our church's doxology correct? Are we wearing the right clothes? Is vorlon right about worrying about our allowing menstruating women in our facility? Is our minister unknowingly an 'unto the 10th generation' God enemy that cannot lead ANYONE to Salvation? Is our version of the Bible correct? Is there a better denomination I should be attending? When I wear a hat, is the width of the brim correct? I might have blasphemed the Holy Spirit when I was drunk during college, I can't fix that now, can I? Do I go to church and celebrate the Sabbath on the right day? Should I be as Jewish as Jesus was, just to be sure?
How do believers alleviate the real worries that have spawned so many disagreements in their religion?
