Anyone makes mental health jokes...

Mentioning doctors, etc, subtly to mock the issue of my mental health, and I am not going to debate semantics.

My insanity has been my biggest evil, yet overcoming to many degrees and coping with it has been my greatest virtue.

Anyone makes any joke belittling any type of mental illness, will be on my ignore.

If you don't care, go ahead, do it.  But you will be on my ignore, I guarantee that.

Welcome back MK,

FYI I suffer from depression myself. It hit me really hard during my mom's surgery and decline and death.

But when it comes to ANY and all religions, and I am not even joking here, you take someone with say depression, or bi polar or schizophrenia and mix that with a lifetime of indoctrination it can compound those conditions and lead that individual to become destructive.

Even with Christians here in the states. Andrea Yates is a prime example. She murdered her kids, to "send them to heaven" because she feared that God thought she was a bad parent and they would end up becoming evil.

In  my prior posts to you about your "romance" of how you view the world and your god, I don't do that to make fun of you, but when I did believe in god myself, having a lifetime of being bullied, a lifetime of being ignorant of my own mental issues, and desperate to fit in, that mixing of religion didn't help.

Yes I do criticize Islam, AND Jewish and Christianity, and Buddhism and Hinduism, but I do take mental health issues very seriously knowing I have them, and it runs in my family.

My older sister is even worse off than I am, she is almost a decade older than me and she cannot hold a job to save her life. She has had to live off her boyfriend and our biological mother and government assistance most of her life. My younger sister suffers from anxiety and depression too, but like me she is an atheists, and between the 3 of us, me and my younger sister handle it, while not perfectly, still far better.

My older sister pins all her hopes on the bible and I can tell you all that has done to her is make things worse.

Now, I am not telling you to ditch your religion but I am saying treating mental illness with old books that are not modern knowledge as to psychiatry, psychology and neurology is not the way you manage mental health issues.

It does not make you evil to have mental illness, I am simply advising you to handle it with professional and not religious care.

Personally, my son suffers from mental health issues. I've had depression in the past and you know about my daughter.

I would be the last person to mock anyone for this silent disease. Stand strong. Only people who don't have any decency would make fun of others that way.

Expecting to be treated with kid gloves (especially from unknowing people) is not a reasonable expectation of the world.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

I don't think it's a matter of that. I think it's a matter of human decency and being kind to one another.

Should we start labeling everyone (sign on forehead) so that we know who to treat differently?

Human decency is one thing, expecting special treatment is another.

Well I'm glad that Parkinson's is not a mental health disorder because Michael J Fox makes great martinis.
Fucked at stealing tambourines though.

MK , I am not joking in this post.

YOU NEED TO stop doing this to YOURSELF.

I say this because I see alot of myself when I was in my childhood, teens and in my 20s. You cant force everyone  to conform to you, or like you, nor will you foster better mental health for yourself if you always let others get to you. I KNOW I did that myself growing up.

The reality on a planet of 7 billion is you will always see and hear things that offend you. Even if you quite this website and never came back..

As an atheist, even outside the web, in my personal life and on the news, if I had a nickle for every time a Christian called me names, called me immoral and told me I was going to burn in hell, I'd make Trump look like a street wino.

You cannot pull this with me, I suffer mental health issues too. You can only control yourself, you cannot control the entire world.

You cannot let everything get to you, I did that, and that only compounded my mental health issues.

I mean this in all sincerity. Take care of yourself FIRST, worry about yourself FIRST. Do not drive yourself crazy trying to get others to conform to your wishes. I used to be like you in my youth and all that did to me was make myself a doormat. IT IS NOT HEALTHY and it will only compound your mental health problems.

Good luck with that; I used to take Abilify (with Viibryd), and the lowest dosage did nothing for me, and the second-lowest dosage did this to me:

To be fair, I suppose that may have been more due to the Viibryd.

I'm currently taking Luvox and Amitryptiline (the latter mainly for stomach issues)
