So, business as usual then, eh?
So, Brits. How's Brexit Going?

Just think, when the crap drags out as far as it can, you’ll get a nice Middle Eastern war to get your attention elsewhere.

The more I look into this, the worse it seems, in all respects. There seems no way out of this except in a body bag. It appears impossible to please enough people, and the EU has every reason to drag us over the coals. Otherwise it would be like handing the naughty kid a box of chocolates in front of the class.
It's amazing to me that anyone thinks we could just tell Europe to fuck off, then turn up and demand a deal even as good as what we had before, let alone better. We're running round with the Union Jack shoved up our arse, while denying that anything is even slightly amiss. This has to be the most embarrassing thing I'm ever going to witness in my lifetime. I think the "leave" arguments could be summarized as:
1) Stating big numbers out of context 2) Blaming everything on immigrants 3) Saying we never should have joined the EU 4) Meaningless phrases like, "Give Britain back to the British" 5) We didn't win the war so that Brussels could tell us what to do Did I miss any? As a rule, society has progressed in as much as it embraced integration and a widening of the circle of inclusiveness. I'm sure there were likely birth pangs associated with joining the EU, but overall, I think globalization is a good thing, and Brexit was likely a matter of cutting your nose off to spite your face. But then, as noted, I'm pretty ignorant about the whole affair, so I don't really have a good foundation for holding to any opinion at all.

Ye're the crowd in the tent pissing all over everybody else. About 90% of the EU's problems since the nineties, from the overliberalisation of the single market, through the rapid and stupid Eastern European expansion to the creation of the Euro can be laid firmly at successive UK governments' feet. Though the UK was largely acting as the US's lapdog in these endeavours. De Gaulle was right.
