So, Brits. How's Brexit Going?

RE: So, Brits. How's Brexit Going?
Brexit may not happen now.

"he prime minister has warned Conservative MPs that they could be putting Brexit at risk.
Some long-standing Leave campaigners are unhappy with her Brexit White Paper which proposes a common rulebook with the EU for traded goods.
Writing in the Mail on Sunday, Theresa May urged the country to "keep their eye on the prize"."

I think she is just using that as a threat. She wants Brexit as much as anyone. But the significance of this is that the narrative has changed. The powers that be have been trying to tell us all this time that Brexit is unstoppable and that it is going to happen no matter what so we should embrace it. They have been making sure to tell us that because they know that it is not true but do not want the remainers to try stopping it. They have now let the genie out the bag. It can be stopped, but not because the Tories will try stopping it, but because it gives fresh hope to the remainers.

Maybe seeing the Orange Shitgibbon on your very own shores will energize people into not wanting to be anything like him?  He is the consummate bad example.  Go Remainers!

I hope Britain, at least the people of Britain if not the spineless Westminster politicians, has shown the world that we are against Trump. I don't know if our protests during his visit were widely reported or not but it was a point of national pride to do our bit.

You had him on your turf. You let him leave your turf in a cylindrical aluminum box rather than a rectangular wooden one......

Something FOX won't be showing you about the protests against Trump in the UK.

And this is a country which has a history of hosting despots from around the world without drawing too much protest.

Well the options are now 1) agreed brexit and 2) no deal brexit. Calling it off is completely off the table.

No-deal Brexit: EU warns its citizens to prepare for the worst

Quote:It says: “The European Union must apply its regulation and tariffs at borders with the United Kingdom as a third country, including checks and controls for customs, sanitary and phytosanitary [regarding plants] standards and verification of compliance with EU norms.

“Transport between the United Kingdom and the European Union would be severely impacted. Customs, sanitary and phytosanitary controls at borders could cause significant delays, eg in road transport, and difficulties for ports.”

The EU document also covers the movement of British citizens to the continent, noting that the country would need to be placed on one of two lists regarding a need for visa for travel.

Quote:The document points out that even if there is a deal, there would be changes in the way businesses traded. Larger corporations were already turning their backs on the UK as a consequence of the Brexit process, the commission claimed.

“Untangling a relationship built over more than 40 years will inevitably result in significant changes in the interactions with the United Kingdom at all levels, including economically and legally,” the document says. “Everyone must therefore prepare for the changes that the departure of United Kingdom will inevitably bring ... Many companies are relocating to EU27 or expanding their business in EU27.”

An EU official added: “We have the impression that since a few weeks a no return point has been considered by a certain number of industrial sectors and that they are taking their decisions.

“You have seen some declaration of corporations saying that they are reconsidering investment, they relocating part of their activities, transferring their marketing authorisation for example for pharmaceuticals in the EU. This is ongoing.

A couple of months of this post-Brexit will probably be enough to swing an independence referendum in Scotland as people become desperate to return to how things were. You can bet one thing about the SNP, they have always played the long game when it comes to getting Scottish independence, and by long I mean planning years ahead. This time they'll be waiting for the moment most likely to result in a Yes vote.

I wonder what Westminster will be doing during this time though. It's impossible to really say because we don't even know if we're going to have yet another general election in Autumn. But the leadership of both Tories and Labour are Brexiters so they'll probably be trying to tell everyone that to stick with it while quality of life collapses.

Remember, this could well be the situation to come ...
