Peterson's 12 Rules For Life, have you heard of this?
RE: Peterson's 12 Rules For Life, have you heard of this?

That may be something you need to do to feel comfortable with your personal investment in him....but I don't have one, don't need to do it, and won't swallow it anyway.  The simple act of connecting assault and identity politics is to drink the koolaid...of identity politics.  Peterson bats for the young white male suffering anxiety.  That's his brand.

Oh, I'm pretty comfortable with it, and I'll say it straight out-- he's speaking my language.  I'd say if anything, I'm probably a little more extreme in my views than he is, or at least than he is willing to put forward publicly.

When I have to pretend that Caitlyn Jenner is a pretty pretty princess, and people seriously suggest that I should use "ze" and "zir," then I'm brought to the realization-- there's no fucking end to the insanity; there's no amount of compromise that will bring a light at the end of the tunnel, no amount of restitution or sympathy that will make it fine for me just to wake up in the morning and be what I am.

But in the end, I can choose whether to be complicit in all that.  None of these special snowflakes actually HAS anything on me.  I have a wife who puts up with me, children who are clearly turning out mostly okay, and I run my own business.  I have actual abilities upon which I can rely, and enough personal discipline to gradually improve my position in life over time.

And therein lies the rub.  Real power isn't found in legislation, or in witty memes in online forums.  It's found in creating things, real things in the real world, through ambition and an aggressive pursuit of goals.  The noisy college kids and angry feminists can squawk all they want, but in the end, they're going to have to shower and shave, sit in an office much like mine, and explain how they intend to contribute something more to the word than organic, gluten-free farts.

It's possible this was a coincidence, and not him putting "women are cunts" in plain sight on the cover. I may have given him too much credit. I've began to think like him. To catch a monster, you have to become a monster. So I just squeezed the toothpaste right from the middle.

Anyhow, here's another video of him saying some crazy shit.

Um. . . how could a person be any more right than this? Big Grin

He's not saying "bitches be crazy."  He's saying that if another man is crazy, there's always that implicit remedy-- "Let's take this outside."  If a woman really digs in her heels and decides she wants to make trouble for you, what can you do, no matter how unreasonable she is? Nothing. There's literally no restraint on a woman no matter how out of line she gets-- and plenty of women know and game this fact.

Good, then stop rehabilitating him.

You don't have to pretend that Jenner is a pretty princess anymore than Peterson was going to get gulaged for being a bigoted asshole who thinks marxists are hiding under every bed.  That's your anxiety talking.

Some people think that bringing about a less bigoted and more egalitarian world is an immense contribution to humanity....and alot of those people also have jobs. I really don't know where you intend to go with this other than to express how your own internal anxiety becomes hateful and ignorant as you project it out onto the world.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. Keep in mind the guy is qualified enough to have an opinion on these types of psychological matters.

When you criticise him at least admit that there is a high chance he is actually right and you are in the wrong.

Why would i do that for Peterson? If i don't do that for William Lane Craig or Alvin Plantinga or  Stephen C. Meyer. Credentials don't make them honest on all matters .

Lol William Lane Craig is theology, that crap doesn't count. What's next? Comparing doctor of medicine to doctor of gender studies?

He isn't the darling of male anxiety because of his expertise or qualifications.

..............lol, his work on personality traits is widely cited and well respected. His work on all the marxists hiding in the closet and how women and transgender people are white genociding men... isn't.

He's an expert on the theology which while we may not like it is a field. And gender studies is a field of study as well .

Apparently it's the opposite of this, he gained popularity because of the latter? Now popular doesn't always mean correct but in these types of debates there isn't really even a right or wrong.

I'm just unsure of what is actually "better" for society. Why is your or my or anyone's views better than his? What do you or I have over him? Experience? Morality? Years of research?

Maybe he might be right (with certain things, no one is right about everything), and some of what he is saying could actually improve society.
