Never said i wasn't . But interestingly the same people (the Alt right) will be the first to claim all the positive stuff white people did .

It honestly doesn't matter how many times you assure a person suffering from white anxiety that they are not being held personally responsible for slavery.  Not the pc left, not the social justice movement.  That's simply not what either thing is about - it's not even on the periphery of what either thing is about.  The only responsibility anyone has today lies in the continuation of that disenfranchisement and exploitation through apathy, antipathy, or the normalization of those views through the use of whitewashing language and positions.

Right leaning opposition to either notion has successfully framed the narrative in this way, for decades.  That, somehow, political correctness and social justice discriminates against whites, threatens their fundamental rights, stigmitizes them and denies them their pride..ultimately resulting in a loss of self esteem - chiefly by causing them to worry that their own "individual merits" are being discounted.

Full throated white supremacists, and a well represented ally contingent in government goes one further - white elimination.  They..will not replace us!  The browns threaten our very way way of life! They're stealing our j-yobs! They're seducing our women! They're creating a cesspool of crime in our inner cities! They're dragging down our economy! They're murdering our white women!  Permanent separation from their families!

The solution, obvs, is to build the wall and lock em up and revert to our traditional social arrangements, because all lives matter - and don't forget to vote against those leftist extremists y'all! It's all fuckin silly, lol..but it has gone mainstream, and it has worked it's way into the disaffected left.

I mentioned this pages ago..it's actually a brilliant tactic despite being so superficially stupid - because it's the one thing that the left is categorically incapable of dealing with without opening themselves to charges of hypocrisy (so wonderfully displayed in this thread).

I mean, if you've never heard anyone say that white people should pay reparations or behave a certain way to make up for slavery, I'm surprised. It may be the minority saying it, but it's not like it's something the alt right made up to make themselves feel threatened. They might be flipping the fuck out about it, but they didn't originate the idea. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the far left that came up with the idea.

Hmmmm.  White people want to view white people in a positive light.

Sounds pretty insidious.  Thank God black people, gay people, or women don't do that.

Yeah, I've heard that kind of thing before many times. (White people owe something for what their ancestors did.) My guess would be that it originated from a misguided desire for overall justice.

I'm sure some nitwit said it, and I'm equally certain that this was fed through the rightwing bullhorn as if anyone was actually trying to -do- it. Gotta keep shoveling coal into the engine or you can't blow the whistle. Wink

That particular fear goes -aaaaaaaaallllll- the way back to the civil war, lol.  Strangely, no one ever got their 40 acres or their mule.  Just like free speech wasn't murdered, our way of life is still intact, our civilization is not a crumbling heap of ethnic ruin, and the white race hasn't been discriminated against, stigmatized or genocided.

We did, though, get the now normalized alt right..and Scrotus. I think it's more than a little bit ironic that the established left is losing their shit, now...when anyone could have seen this coming as far back as the 90's.

Out of everyone I've read about commenting on this book, wherever I've looked so far, almost no one seems to have noticed the religious preaching or how out of place it is. This further makes me suspect that they haven't read the thing at all and are "reviewing" the chapter headings.

I wonder if his plan has worked too well, so that no one is actually receiving this preaching. His other plan of making money has certainly succeeded; but he'd have managed that anyway, so what's with the stealth preaching? Maybe he just feels he is earning some sly Jesus points.

It goes into the "meh" category, since he's not a christian, he doesn't believe in god or christ.  The utility of the narrative is limited, in his viewpoint, to enforcing and justifying traditional social hierarchies and gender roles.

It's "truer than true", except..not in the sense that any of it ever happened.

I think he is actually a Christian, according to what he writes in this book. He could be lying of course, and he can still categorise himself how he wishes.

I find it weird that he thinks Jesus would be impressed with dishonestly inserting preaching as some sort of subliminal message in an unrelated book. I suspect he's a sociopath from his writing style, again unless it's an act.
