Intercessory prayer is pointless

"For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."
Two things.. What did Jesus say he came here to do (the part of the quote you left out) and What did Jesus say on the cross just before he died?

I came here to finish or full fill the law/was the part you left out and (depends on translation)  It is finished.. or it has been fulfilled. was his lasts words on the cross.

Now does this take the whole law away from everyone? no it still applies to the same people it always applied to.. OT Jews. Or people seeking righteousness through the law (moral people/pop morality douche bags who thik they can be good 'enough'.) as the OT Jews sought which means everyone! but those who seek atonement/as faith in Christ...

Otherwise what was the point of Christ if he were to come here die just to continue the old covenant? If that were the case, then that means the gentiles are screwed as they have no 'in to being born into the chosen' and the jews would have to live as they always have always lived. (which jews today don't even live like ot jews. so everyone is screwed.)

That or you are missing something in your exegesis of this passage.
Such as:

Quote:Heaven (LOL) and Earth are still here, and everything is NOT "accomplished", therefore EVERYTHING in the "law" is still required.
As usual Christians cherry-pick the verses they want to cherry-pick.
read it again sport it says: "not one jot shall change till it is finished or full filled." what did Jesus say his mission here was? (the part you cut out of your quotation of this passage) It says "I did not come here to destroy the law" but to what?!?!? "but to Full fill the law"

so again... what did he do on the cross ?? He full filled the law so "one jot could be changed." How do we know this? IT WAS HIS FINAL WORDS!!!

What jot? Ask yourself where does fulfillment of the explained? Romans 10 goes well into detail explain how and what it means the law was full filled but to sum it up in a sentence romans 10:4 says it all:
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

But here's the thing you and guys who quote this passage wishing we were all still OT jews don't get... Read verse 4 again.. The law end... FOR those who BELIEVE do you understand? the law remains and for those who do not believe (you and people like you) IT IS YOU WHOM THE LAW REMAINS TILL HEAVEN AND EARTH DISAPPEAR. So you may be judged by it.. However For those who believe.. it is our faith in Christ that saves us. (again all explain in great detail in Romans 10)

Quote:PAUL himself said Christians were STILL under the (old) law.
1 Corinthians 14:34  "Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says."
this is a lie. nowhere in that passage does it say we are under the old law. PAul is setting rules for the worship service, and lot of new things because of how the Spirit changes the dynamic of worship.. however for the women it is as it always was... that is all this passage is saying. the woman's role in worship is the same as it was under the law. men roles changed because so many were blathering about in tongues and Paul is trying to regulate guys who have this gift from morons pretending. he says in the chapter several time he wants worship to be orderly, we can do tongues if...

Quote:Jesus also told the young man in Matthew, he had to "keep (all) the commandments",
because the young man asked him a completely different question you dishonest pig.

17 As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

He asked 'what HE MUST DO' it is the same thing YOU MUST DO being a non christian.. You have to live perfectly by the law... He supposedly did, However this was not enough for the boy he wanted to be perfect. Christ said sell everything and follow him.. why? because if he had he would have followed as a disciple who all later found out that through atonement we do become perfect before God. apart from the law. He wanted to be perfect... no way through the law to be perfect, but through faith and atonement perfection is given/not earned lest no man should boast.

Quote: (not just 2). Sounds like your Jebus can't make up his mind, (or perhaps the people who made up the story of Jebus couldn't keep their story straight).
My quote comes from the disciples asking which laws were the most important and Christ wraps up all law ito just two the christian must follow.

For honest open minded people they would see, Two different question two different answers.. for the closed minded douche who thinks he knows more about the bible than he really does, everyone is wrong except him, because he tried to contact god and got nothing in return.. meaning if there was a God surly he would meet him 1/2 way... so that must make you a bible expert, because you read a few passages and have a few opinions..

Quote:Drich, you really need to take Bible 101. You are incompetent to say anything about the Bible.
You can't even write a sentence in correct English. Can't Jebus send someone who can spell ?

NT 101 the disciples/apostles/ Father's of the church... were all common laborers/fishermen and most of them could not read or write. Most of them used scribes. Paul who could, but rarly wrote his own letters. Moses had a speech impediment, Jesus Himself came as a below status commoner.. which is one of the reason why the upper echelon never accepted him.

or better put:
26 Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him. 30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”

God uses foolish people like me so when you stop and actually look at what is being said you know the origins of this or any profound message is not of the messenger but of the one who sent the messenger.

the message here is not mine it is the lords. which is why it leaves your pitiful but correctly spelled observations emasculated and appearing to be lacking in the basic knowledge of the bible you where in fact lording over me.

because truly what is ore pittful.. someone on point and correct in everything he says, but misspelled *3 words.. or someone who has great spelling and grammar but has a very little understanding of the basic subject matter?

Who is the person you entrust to drive your family? Some douche fresh out of class who knows the rules of the road, or the professional driver who knows how to drive any vehicle at any speed or road condition??

#1 You are incompetent to comment on anyone's interpretation of anything. You are an authority on nothing.
#2 Your analogies suck. They are always false and inappropriate.
#3 Are heaven and earth still here ? Yes. My point stands.
#4 Paul himself invokes "the law" when it was convenient to tell women to shut up. The point stands. HE told his people they were STILL under the law.

I understand FAR more about your cult than you ever will, sport.
You have not a shred of evidence that your Jebus ever said anything, ever was on a cross, that the ideas are "the lords". (It should have been spelled "Lord", you dunce).
The gods don't send anyone. Delusional neurotic people with no other expertise, (not unlike yourself) appoint yourself to preach, because you think you have a skill that you don't. You are suffering from Dunning Krueger syndrome.

And yet you people claim they all became miraculously world-travelers and writers and preachers of great renown ..... LMAO

BTW, "it is finished" (singular) ... in NO way has the same meaning as, or could even remotely be interpreted as "all things are accomplished". Doh.
Do try a bit harder next time, sport.

Do you get it moron? The law has changed just a jot.. in that for believers we are not judged by the law! but because heaven and earth are still here the rest of you are judged by the law, meaning it remains for you. not only that but the law also applies to thought now as well! IE attack the messenger and you don't have to concern yourself with the message.. when that doesn't work get violent.

And I would not go there for anything.

why would i speak about atheists when I am addressing you and your specific failures and shortcomings? do you honestly believe that your failures as an individual translate to all who believe as you do? granted you all share some common thoughts but, yours is a failure of intellectual capacity and a close mind to what you think you know.. while most share a close mind to what they think they know most of your peers and nd do understand the basics of Christianity...

YES YOU F-ING MORON!!! That is what got Him Killed!!! He kept insulting and show up the Religious elite! Every chance he got he'd see their little traps and answer them in a way to make them seem like a fool for asking. then he started out right calling them names like blind guides snakes wolves telling people that they knew nothing of God ect.. why? for the same reason I blast you. They misrepresent God for their own gain. They did it to make money you cast God in a negative light so you can live in your own squaller. Matter of fact here is a whole chpater dedicated to a single rant Jesus had calling pharisees bad names!
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?se...rsion=NKJV

Jesus basically Damned them.. God.. Damned these men and they were furious.. They saw themselves as being above everyone else just one rung below God and this man who said he was the son of God basically said they were garbage in front of their whole little world.

Not only that Jesus was very hard on his disciples... Jesus changed simon's name to "peter" or petra which inthe greek mean unstable can't count on.most think it means rock or foundation, not the case that word is petros petra is small unstable loose soil.

Now look at all you didn't know about Jesus as the bible describes him.. yet you claim to be in a position to determine with out a doubt there is no God. what a joke.. at best all you can say is your version of God the holier than thou jesus and the god who sees petition and pray as the same does not exist.

Quote:You really LOVE playing snarky old church-lady don't you ? LOL
You are no Christian ... you tell yourself you are, .... in fact you are not at all Christ-like.
again your version of Christ does not exist. that is the only thing you can proove yet you expect me to follow you failed example?!?!

Quote:Do you qualify for the "By their love you will know them ?" (John 13:35) LMAO .... um no. You're nothing but an un-Christian (ignorant fundy) judgmental jerk who fancies himself a preacher doing his imaginary friend's work.
I bet the pharisees did not feel love when Jesus down dressed them in front of their whole world. In truth love is what put him there correcting or showing them the truth despite their 'feelings' on how they wanted to be loved. That's the key.. it's not about showing people the love they want but loving them enough to show and stick with the truth!

Quote:For many decades, (perhaps centuries) the early Christians were still Jews. They were in no way freed from anything. They STILL went to synagogue until at least 100 CE, (the Jewish High Priest demanded the Expulsion Curses be read. The Christians were STILL coming, and causing trouble, it seems.
Ah... no. From the beginning there were two primary sects of Christianity. Peter lead one who were primarily converted Jews and what's more converted people to judaism before they could be baptized into christianity (meaning the men were circumcised) and then there was Paul, who's efforts was to put Judaism aside and treat Christianity separately. Subsequently the bible we have is modeled after Paul's works not peters from the 3rd century forward. even the teaching Paul favored that we should not be circumcised takes precedence from the first century forward. Meaning there was a Jewish church for the first of second generation but ultimately the gentile church PAul's church is what we have now.

Quote:http://lawrenceschiffman.com/the-benedic...the-minim/
In his Christmas sermon (400 CE) (St.) John Chrysostom told HIS congregation (Constantinople) to STOP going to synagogue.
So yeah, .... the traditional BS of Christians were "free" from the old law, is nothing but bullshit.
ah, no again. the Jews Peter's church was deep into the law which again is not the model of the church that survived. And Again we have so much freedom in the law we can bind ourselves to the law. meaning we are so free if we think we need to live under the law we are free enough to do so. there are miles of scripture to support this idea not only that but examples such as meat offer to idols if one man thinks it a sin to eat offere to an idol then for him it is wrong and for the sake of the weaker brother you also should not eat meat offer to an idol so he may not be tempted and sin in his own mind.

Just because we have freedom doesn't mean we have to live free. look at the catholic church it is full of self governing rules, because that is what those people need in their minds to worship God. How ever in the bible there are examples after examples of casting off the law as our means to righteousness.

Quote:There is not one shred of evidence that prayer works.
what are you talking about prayer works 100% of the time
what you people generally think as prayer is actually petition.

Quote:There is evidence that heart attack victims who are prayed for actually do worse.
petition is not prayer praying to get out of a heart attack is petition.

Quote:https://www.nytimes.com/2006/03/31/healt...rayer.html
It's moronic. if god has a plan, then prayer intends to screw it up. If a god is actually in charge, then it is doing what it wants ... innocent babies getting cancer etc etc.
Drich can spew this religious BS all he wants. He has NEVER once had a convert here. He's wasting his time, as he has nothing constructive to do.

there are 'a few' members who no longer consider themselves 'atheist.' Some still are apart of the website some have moved on. some emailed me for years every single day asking questions and wanting prayers.

That said it is not about converting anyone. it is about sharing the truth. So when you get your sentence you won't have to wonder what if I had only know the truth? would I have responded differently if I was not left to believe God was who I had in mind! That idea of what if made Hell that much worse for me and I wanted a chance to take that question out of the minds of as many as I could.
