Edit: Implementation here would be a bitch.
As much of a bitch as burying schoolchildren every few months?

Unfortunately more than. I know it's totally unreasonable and irrational but I'm not sure you're taking into account the extremes some in the US will take to keep their guns. Imagine several Ruby Ridge and Waco like scenario's. And the creation of Tim McVeigh's.

I'm all for talking about guns in a thread designed for that purpose. That is not the purpose of this thread.
What would you like me to say about the victims? It's a damn shame and should never have happened. We need find a way to stop it.
And for every other gun victim today or any other day that's not in a mass shooting, it's a damn shame and should never have happened. We need find a way to stop it.
Do we just keep repeating this?

Updates on anything since it was a developing story, maybe? One thing I do know is that from this morning, they were saying that the shooter had military training. At that time they weren't indicating any sort of mental health issue. I know everyone wants to use that as their go to when talking about the shooter, but I think this is one case where a mental health issue doesn't apply, unless there's been an update and something has changed?

Most illegal firearms in America come from just a handful of sources, but the NRA lobbies to keep TAF from investigating. Eliminating those restrictions is step one.
I sincerely dont know what to do about guns in the US.

Yep, it's changed. Mental health issues and police call.

Disturbed is disturbed, no matter the motive. Mentally ill, workplace grudge, school, racial, religious or political motives, all of them have the same thing in common, easy access to firearms.

How strictly are they enforced ?

We don't have any national standards and we have a flooded market on top of that. It is like trying to hold water with a spaghetti strainer.
But who cares, objects are living things, humans are merely collateral damage.

Because people like you want all the guns to go away --- so you pass stupid laws that have little to no effect. Like the 68 gun law that required handgun ammunition to be signed for with ID.
It was finally shitcanned, because according to FBI statistics - not one crime in 40 years had been solved because of it. The paperwork wasn't worth a shit.
