What you'll notice..if you read your own link, is that it has nothing to do with nancy pelosi, the number above -is- in the headlines, lol....and that the incidents to which mother jones is referring all require four or more people being killed per the doj..though they go lower, and include any incident in which people were killed (but none with no fatalies, no matter how many people were shot).  Whereas gunviolence dot org considers any time a bunch of people get shot..even if they don't die, a mass shooting. Mother Jones is not in any way claiming that gun violence dot orgs list is incorrect, that all of those people didn't get shot, lol. How could they, the list is exhaustively sourced.

What do you think, when a mass of people get shot..if fewer than four die..is it not a mass shooting?

(what is it with you lot and nancy pelosi...I don't like to be a hater, but that seems like an odd target for an unhealthy obsession..she's kinda long in the tooth, right? - I really don't get it, a lucid criticism of the lefts response to gun violence is fucking baked in.....but rather than run with that.......nancy! boo!.....?)

Take a look at gun violences list.  Youll find all of mother jones stuff included....what you'll notice, is all that mother jones omits....and it;s alot. Have there been that many mass shootings? Yes. Demonstrably, inarguably.. yes. Most did not lead to fatalities, or led to too few fatalities (muddle that one over for a minute)..because we're getting pretty damned good at trauma related to gunshot wounds (who knows why...lol )

Yes.  It's linked above.  Take a look. There have been more mass shootings in 2018 alone than all of the mass shootings tracked by mother jones since 1982.

Mother jones isn't tracking mass shootings..they're tracking high media profile mass shootings.

I think mass shootings are an overblown problem. I don't mean they aren't a tragedy. Just that they get so much more media time than they warrent. Partly because most of the victims and shooters are white.

If you are concerned about gun violence, 2/3rds of that, 20,000 people are suicides. 2017 had 281 victims off mass shootings. So a little more than 1% the number of suicides by firearm alone.

Where is the media coverage for that? Why does nobody prioritize when it comes to gun violence? Instead they focus on anamoly events and go 'this is the problem we need to give the most attention to' when it is a tiny sliver.

-we've been averaging very nearly a mass shooting a day for years now. Most of the victims of mass shootings with high media profile are white. This is not true of mass shootings as a whole. None of the people tracked in that database were suicides. They specifically excluded them.
