We seem to get more Mormons than JWs in my neck of the woods these days.

JW's from two different Kingdom Halls usually visit me twice a year, in May and August. I always show them an atheist tract and my atheist business card as soon as I come to the door. They usually depart in short order. The ones who come in May didn't show up this year, not that I really care.

I hope I pissed that lady off to the point she, nor anyone else from that church come to my house again. Not a matter of hating human rights, just a matter of anyone bugging me at my door trying to sell me anything.

I've heard they have a system where if you're excommunicated, they're forbidden to interact with you. I wonder if they'd buy it when you say you're ex JW, so they just write you off as a no go.

"Excommunicated" is simply a superstitious word to mean the group you are in has "ostracized" you. But that isn't a patent owned by any one religion. Humans group, we always have, but some families and or sects will cut off ties to someone who breaks from the social norms of that given society/family. 

You can find this behavior in every religion to greater or lesser degrees worldwide. 

It shows itself far more in conservative interpretations, even in Jews and Asia and India.

Despite some theists here falsely accusing me of hating human rights, I wouldn't go that far. I am sure you only are jokingly making a point.

I'm sure it happens in many groups, but I felt it might be relevant to this particualar case.

Honestly there should be a section in trespassing laws saying you can get the police called for soliciting. I don't know so much about shooting.
