I really don't understand your reaction at all. The answer to where a recycled fuel project is going to get it's energy is the local grid.

While it's possible for a project to create a larger amount of useful energy than it consumes - even assuming that a specific project doesn't...it's a simple issue of whether or not we want to use energy to reduce pollution. This is not a novel concept, nor is it novel to profit or at least offset the cost with a marketable product.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Nice solution.

Are you providing the 93 million mile long extension cord needed?

Holy fuck - you sound just like the Christers who say they know it's true because it's in the bible and that proves it......

Facepalm

For this concept to work - you need virtually unlimited amounts of non-polluting sources of power WHICH DO NOT EXIST.

Nudge, your calender is two days behind. Hehe Because I'm pretty sure you are well familiar with this:
  • 1. You Can’t Win: you can’t get more energy out of the system than you put into it.
  • 2. You Can’t Break Even: any transfer of energy will result in some waste of energy unless a temperature of absolute zero can be achieved.
  • 3. You Can’t Get Out of the Game: you cannot achieve absolute zero.

My highlight.

I sometimes wonder whether people imagine that something about energy production is just impossible..despite the existence of energy production.

When it comes to fossil fuels, either as a primary fuel or a recycled fuel..we're not the ones "putting the energy in". It's extraction.

Why, why do you think that?

For "this" to work, it needs only remove carbon from the atmosphere while providing a useful product that can be used for fuel.  Why would we need unlimited amounts...or even -any- non polluting sources of power? If any energy, any energy whatsoever...can be captured while reducing the amount of pollution in the environment..worst case scenario, it offsets the cost of remediation.

How can this be hard to understand?

  Hilarious

Hey!? The 70's called! They want their meme/trope back!

SO... did you miss the whole "Turn the CO2 into fuel via electrical power" I also posted?

Once we're level with this idea then we'll walk on, 'Kay?

Great

More out than in? That's not energy production that's perpetual motion.

If that were true, then our entire civilization is running on perpetual motion right now.

Yes, it's possible for human beings to extract more energy out of something than the energy we put in - as every single extracted barrel of oil handily shows.

Lol I'm dying imagining us setting up an extension cord all the way to the Sun and just plugging it in.
