And -
Were Wyatt Earp alive today - he would carry a high capacity autoloader.
Why?
In his day - he carried a top break Smith and Wesson in .45 Colt - rather than a Colt Peacemaker.
Why?
Because it reloads faster - taking only one stroke of the ejector rod - rather than the Peacemaker's six and does not require rotating the cylinder to align with the loading gate for each shell....
He would love a Glock Model 20 with an extended magazine....

Probably not, for a couple of reasons.
1. Wyatt Earp wasn’t much of a gunfighter. He relied more on physical intimidation and hitting people over the head with his pistol barrel.
2. Wyatt Earp is famously dead, which would have a detrimental effect on both his aim and his reaction time.

Actually, Wyatt Earp mounted one of the few, perhaps the only, Documented instances in the Real history the American West when a real gunman did what gunmen Do all the time in movie westerns - take down several opponents with both shot gun and revolver in a stand up confrontation. At Iron Springs, he and his posse ran into the Cowboy gang. When his posse was pinned down and some of their horses shot and killed, he got up from behind cover, Walked towards the Cowboy gang who were shooting from behind Their own cover, deliberately shot and killed Curley bill with his shot gun from 20 yards, and Then shot and killed Johnny Barnes, and mortally wounding milt Hicks with his revolver, to cover the retreat of his posse
During the exchange His coat was holed through both sides by shot gun blasts, a bullet took off The heel of his boot, and another shattered his saddle horn. But he was not injured in the exchange.
A good gunman needs skill and luck, it looks like his skill wasn’t deficient, and his luck very great.

20 yards with a shotgun isn't even slightly impressive.
I took a buck with a .480 Ruger Super Redhawk (a hard recoil revolver) at 25 yards and had less than 2 seconds to set up and take the shot.. DRT.
I consider myself a better than average shot.
Of course I have probably shot more rounds than Wyatt Earp.....

The bucks weren’t experienced shooters In an ambush shooting back From behind cover with their own shot guns and revolvers with every determination to kill you.

Cubs won the World Series just four years ago.

At work.
Must admit this thread has me interested as to how toys such as Ian Mccollm has like the 'Calico 9' with its rather unique and interesting 100 round helical magazine will fare.
