I specifically mentioned Barack in my original post, but only because that's what's been talked about. And Mrs. Obama wouldn't need to reactivate her law license to be a Justice.

You know that weird guy in every neighbourhood who walks about mumbling to himself and occasionally bellows out things like 'VOLATILE FARTS SURROUND ME!!' ?  HE meets all of the qualifications to be on the court.

An idea:

Nominate trump’s older sister.

She is an retired appellate court judge, so she is at least qualified. The Donald himself tried to suggest her as a good supreme Court candidate, but the moron is too stupid to,realise his sister is far smarter than he is and hold him in The uttemost of contempt and disgust, and has been politically far different from him.

So now that she has been recorded saying exactly what she thinks of the Donald, Her nomination will show the unifying instincts of a real president.

What is more, She is 86 years old, so she probably would die before Biden, uh, before Biden finishes his term, so Biden Gets to nominate her replacement too, putting someone more permanent in the supreme courts after making the Donald strew in the juice of his own gene pool for a year or two.

Judicially, it wouldn’t have all that much of an impact on the Trump years. The next person appointed to the Court would most likely replace Ginsberg, so the balance of voting probably wouldn’t change. Unless, you know, Alito falls into an open manhole and dies.

I would say this country’s judicial system didn’t linger this long by virtual of considering anyone who is “qualified” to actually be qualified to be a justice on the Supreme Court.

The point is that there are - literally - NO qualifications to be a Supreme Court justice. No judicial experience, no legal training of any kind, no residency/age/citizenship restrictions...nothing.

So to say that Trump’s sister is ‘qualified’ because she was an appellate court judge is nonsensical.

Well, It nonsensical only in a largely irrelevant and absurdly reductionist way similar to saying prior experience with arguing or adjudicating potentially constitutional issues, or even prior familiarity with the constitution in a legal sense, forms a practically necessary qualification for Supreme Court justice Would have been nonsensical in some absurdly reductionist view.
