You know that Isaac Newtown also wasn't a real Christian because he rejected the Trinity and add to that his views about Jesus and holy ghost, make him by today's standards almost a jehovah's witness, and we all know that jehovah's witnesses are not real Christians.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

If a “real Christian” is just someone who self identifies as a Christian, that is a extremely low bar. Jesus himself said not everyone who cries Lord Lord will enter heaven, but rather those who do the will of the Father. I imagne there a lot of name-only Christians who have no real connection to God at all.

That's the problem, ain't it?

Do you also take the time to imagine that you might be one of them? All of you know that verse, you seem to be convinced that it's referring to someone else, though. It's def one of my favorites, because it's got a good message and the point stands even though there is no god and no jesus ever existed to come back. It's still true that there are christians who don't seem to know christ - and whom christ does not seem to know. Sadly, and at least in the us, it's become the majority of christians. Christianity, as a movement, has left christ behind for free market eib jesus.

OTOH, if those people believe in christ, that does make them christians, even though they're bad christians - which is thoroughly redundant. Just another place where the message of the character of christ is at odds with the religion of christ.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder. (James 2:19).    By your reasoning (I'm not criticizing you here, merely continuing the thought) demons would qualify as bad christians.

Me? No, I know that there are thousands.

Yeah, though, ofc demons could qualify as bad christians. If they believed in christ - because that's the one thing and the only thing that determines whether someone is christian. Being privileged as supernatural agents, they might find it easier to believe than we do, if belief is applicable.

Mark Twain had thoughts on something like this.

Quote:But who prays for Satan? Who in eighteen centuries, has had the common humanity to pray for the one sinner that needed it most, our one fellow and brother who most needed a friend yet had not a single one, the one sinner among us all who had the highest and clearest right to every Christian's daily and nightly prayers, for the plain and unassailable reason that his was the first and greatest need, he being among sinners the supremest?

If Mark Twain had half a brain he would read Revelations and conclude that prayers for Satan would be wasted breath.

So are prayers for humans, but we do it anyway.

Is that what you get from that, though, that mark twain had a deficient intellect...? I mean, not everyone is a fan, but you don't generally hear people question the guys wit. I would have suggested his War Prayer, too, but that's probably out, lol. It's a fun question, can demons be christians..and at the end of the day I could only say that I can't imagine why not, judging by christians. None of the stereotypically human vices that we use demons to contextualize and express prevent christians from being christians.
