Don't you find the timing of these disclosures just a BIT suspicious?
You don't think somebody at the NY Times had an axe to grind?

As I understand it, personal tax info is rather difficult to get your hands on, even for the NYT. While I don’t discount what you say about the timing being somewhat suspect, (particularly as it gives Biden more ammo for the debate), I think it’s perfectly plausible that the story was released as soon as it was possible for the Times to do so. If, as you say, they have an axe to grind, then they would have released four years ago.
Puts Trump in a bit of a bind, either way. Either he lied to the IRS about his income, or he’s a phenomenally inept businessman.

Come on - you think the IRS just found out by reading the paper?
It makes more sense that the story itself is more fuckery than Trump's lack of paying tax....

Tax fraud isn't a criminal offense in the US? His financial disclosure form lists income of over 450 million dollars. His IRS filings list a loss of about 50M. Both are legal documents. If either of them is false, he committed a crime.

You have a short memory. Trump and his foundation and his children were and have all been under investigation since before he assumed office. From penny ante shit all the way up to a rico. They've all either gone poof or been actively stonewalled.
So, no, it's not news that trump is a criminal, the news was that the criminal became potus and used the power of that office as he's used anything else that's ever been handed to him.
