If your solution to an unruly nine year old girl is to pepper spray her, you shouldn't be a cop in the first place.

My issues with this solution would had started at handcuffing a 9y old already. Who was she? Hit-Girl?

Actually, I can understand (though not agree with) the handcuffing - she was struggling and kicking at the cops, and it’s not unreasonable to assume she could have injured herself. She was traumatized and distraught.

But even the handcuffing could have been avoided if a social worker had been sent out instead of cops - you know, maybe someone who has experience in dealing with emotionally trouble children instead of a goon squad.

I can’t acknowledge that because I don’t know it to be true. And neither do you. Do you have some special insight into the dynamics of this particular family, or are you making a blanket statement based on her skin tone?

There is no justification. Especially with a half dozen cops on scene and no one stood up to be a voice of reason. That's a mob. A small mob, but a mob nonetheless.

You have to hope one of them at least had a flicker of "this is not okay" going through their mind.

There should be some collecting of badges and whoever is in charge should be soon looking for a job elsewhere.

As a kid - I was her age during the riots in the late 60's - and was taught by my dad - DO NOT RESIST COPS.... Very simply you WILL lose. No if. You WILL lose. The number of lumps on your head and body are inversely proportional to how much you resist.
