They say 4.5 bill years with a range of 50 million years, but how did they not get its exact age? And where did they come up with the number of 50 million? Do you believe scientists really know?

the age of the earth

Here you go.
Quote:For centuries scholars sought to determine Earth’s age, but the answer had to wait for careful geologic observation, isotopic analyses of the elements and an understanding of radioactive decayhttps://www.scientificamerican.com/artic...the-earth/
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Yes, they really know, with the usual caveat that all scientific knowledge is provisional. Boru

But where did they come up with the range of 4.5 bill years but could be off by 50 million, how did they come to that conclusion?
Shesh.

You take a rock and figure out which elements are in it. Since all elements decay over time, you can determine the age of the rock by the percentage of daughter isotopes compared to parent isotopes. Doing this thousands and thousands of times gives you better and better information about older and older rocks. When you stop finding older rocks, you have a pretty good idea of the age of the materials that make up the Earth. The 50MY error factor is partly a matter of the accuracy of measurements, but mostly due to definitions. Geologists have a certain disagreement as to whether ‘age of the Earth’ refers to the accretion, the formation of the core, or the age of the constituent materials. Boru ____ Yeah, what GS said. Sheesh.

So they kinda just made up the 50 million and we shouldn't take it seriously?
OP, it's 6,000 years old. Don't listen to these idiots!
(I read somewhere that they were even caught burying fake dino bones!) They're obsessed with denying God! That's all. Carry on!
No God, No fear.
Know God, Know fear.
Did you know they use the dirt the fossils are in to determine dino bones and their age?
