There’s the nutbar shibboleth, again, though. The naturally superior Russians would win, is our implication. Seems to stand in the face of mere reality with and without western support. Russia has the second best army in Ukraine.

Because two nuclear armed nations warring or proxy warring is dangerous, and because the US is using Ukrainians as cannon fodder for their and NATOs geopolitical goals, which I consider selfish and cruel, but I suppose that's just what superpowers do.

My post before said no one would suggest we stop trade with China. That no one includes me. Like I said, business is business, and in this global economy we all need China and China needs us.

Which in no way refutes any of my previous points.....

And what do you mean stop a country from invading another country? The US didn't stop the invasion, because they know that a direct attack on Russia is a no go from the start, because they know better.

Ukraines been fighting since 2014 you ridiculous dipshit. We could tell them to surrender, and even try to extort them….and we’ve done both, and they’re still going to do what they want to do.

Like I said before…if we’re going to advocate for something we should be able to do it plainly and clearly. You do not want nature to take its course. You do not want whatever is happening to happen. You do not want Ukraine to do what it wants or what’s best for Ukraine. You want the opposite of all of that - you want Russia to pull victory from the jaws of defeat through the abrupt abandonment of Ukraine.

As a minor correction….btw, it’s Russia conscripting Ukrainians and using them in doomed recon by fire missions, not the us.

I'm aware they've been going at it for a while now. They also discussed a peace deal a few times in the past year, and I'm pretty sure everyone would prefer the bloodshed and tens of thousands of lives lost to end if that were possible. Ukraine has much less of a reason to try to make peace when they are being given billions of dollars in funding though, which is just dragging out the carnage.

I don't want Putin, the Taliban, Al Qaeda, Kim Jong Un, or the Supreme Leader of Iran to be successful. I just don't want to be the world police who try to rule the entire planet. You have American politicians and political commentators who are even calling for a no-fly zone in Ukraine, which would literally mean directly attacking Russia militarily. We need to check ourselves.

I see youre right back to the idea that Russian victory is somehow assured, like gravity..just natural, and anything else just drags out…something. Counterfactual to mere reality in which Russia lost long ago but hasn’t yet found a good out.
