Cathartic would be a Russian brigade caught at a crossroads under a nice time-on-target shoot.

Discussing things anywhere has had zero impact, hence the shooting war.

China and Russia refusing to bow down to the western (US) powers hints that those areas of the world are going to influence their neighbors (and then the BRICS and then the rest of the world) to follow their not-really-democratic type of government which can be expected to lead to more poverty in the general population... but Capitalism is taking us there anyway, so... which will be the lesser evil 50 or 100 years from now?

It's a war between russians and ukranians, not capitalism and fascism.  Not between greater and lesser evils, the us or anyone else... but between russian evil and ukranian survival.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

You never engage in dogfighting unless you absolutely have to, anyway.

Which is why it's so laughable that the mafia got so much media attention for so long.

Quote:Russia not 'bluffing' with nuclear threats as Biden greenlights limited military strikes, Medvedev says

Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chair of the Security Council of Russia, made the comments after President Biden quietly authorized Kyiv to launch U.S.-supplied weapons at military targets just over the border in Russia that are supporting an offensive against the northeastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv.

"This is, alas, neither intimidation nor bluffing," Medvedev said Friday, speaking on the potential to use strategic nuclear weapons, per Reuters.

I don't know how much this guy is just acting tough, but there it is.

Completely acting the tough guy. It's about 30 threats of "immediate use of nuclear weapons" at this stage from him.

Medvedev is the guy at fights who is always around the edge making shapes while having a couple of cronies pretending to hold him back. He's the guy who tries to set up fights but never shows up when they happen. He's the guy who if he was leader would have his subordinates doing all his fighting for him.

There is inflation, yes, but not 27%. In the link you put there, they say "Russia’s official inflation rate is an uncomfortable 7.8%" and Google is giving me this table:

Russian official inflation is a bit like Zimbabwean official information, it's the real inflation divided by a large number.

They were instrumental in driving the USAF to reinstitute solid training in ACM, and also pushed strongly for the F-16, though they wanted its EW suite reduced. But you need to remember that at that time, "guided" missiles had failure rates of upwards of fifty per cent, and no USAF fighter has an onboard cannon -- they had to strap cannon-pods to the belly or wings of the planes, increasing drag and making the plane even less maneuverable.

Some of what they espoused was crap. Some was good.
