....or, you could just go check out the trace data yourself.  It's all public record.  Broken down state by state, types of firearms, age of firearms, time to crime, type of crime, and apparent state to state pipelines when applicable.  Maybe you could even do a little sleuthing, see what law enforcement has to say about buybacks.

The rest of the time they just bitch about cops being stone insane murderers who just want to pull over black men and kill them .....

Some departments do the by back thing because it is good PR with the public in that area (read - very blue).

Other departments will tell you ( just like me) that it is a waste of resources and taxpayer dollars.

It's almost as if law enforcement is full of shitty people but those shitty people can have accurate data on guns and sometimes do something right like gun exchanges and hold correct opinions about its effectiveness. But that's not possible apparently.....
