I've just checked with the person that they're happy with me talking about this, and they are, so i guess just to paraphrase then, they disagree and see him as very principled (this was not in direct response to this post here, just in reply to me) and suggest anyone should watch his full speech before making a judgement. That it was not an easy decision for him, but that he 'stepped down from being a spoiler candidate' and did something uncomfortable for the greater good. Which sounds to me, similar to what Biden did, (the spoiler candidate bit), and which I have huge respect for him for doing... takes balls to step down for the good of the country. Whether Junior's thing can be compared to that, I don't know, but just on the face of it it seems similar, but as I said, I don't myself have a horse in this particular race.
He didn’t ‘step down for the greater good’. He ended his campaign because his numbers were dropping like a paralyzed falcon. And he endorsed Trump because he wants a job in the next administration and the Harris campaign essentially told him to go piss up a rope.
Ask your friend if they’ve looked into how many lives were destroyed by Junior’s years-long embracing of anti-vaxxer conspiracy theories.
That high pitched whine you hear is RFK, Sr spinning in his grave.

OK, I think I'll leave it there. I didn't mean to offend, just share this other perspective. But thank you for sharing yours also... duly noted.

I think your friend has got this seriously wrong. For that matter I think @ Belacqua has got it wrong too.
I've got no respect for RKF Jr. The man couldn't think his way out of a wet paper sack.

Quote:Trump has baselessly claimed at least twice in recent days that Harris had a meeting with Putin just days before Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022.
“Remember when [President Joe] Biden sent Kamala to Europe to stop the war in Ukraine,” Trump said at a North Carolina campaign rally on Aug. 21. “She met with Putin to tell him, ‘Don’t do it.’ And three days later, he attacked. That’s when the attack started.”
The next day, during an interview on “Fox & Friends,” Trump repeated the claim and took it a step further, falsely claiming Harris had been sent to Russia.
He said: “But let me tell you — and a little known fact and the press doesn’t want to talk about, Biden sent — I call her comrade Kamala — sent comrade Kamala to see Putin in Russia three days before the attack. She went. She said — she gave her case. He attacked three days later. He attacked three days later. He laughed at her. He thought she was a joke.”

So. among the other songs that Trump thinks he can use when he wants, there's more...of course Beyonce had a 'cease and desist' order set.
Now onto: Foo Fighters issue curt response to Trump’s use of their hit ‘My Hero’ at Arizona rally (msn.com)
Foo Fighters say they did not authorize Donald Trump’s use of their hit track “My Hero” at a rally in which he received the endorsement of political rival-turned-backer Robert F Kennedy Jr.
The US rock band said they were not asked for permission over the song’s use and “would not have granted it” if they had.

And they're going to donate any royalties garnered to the Harris/Walz campaign.
