No, but he still needs to put that money and the $83 million from the E. Jean Carroll case aside.  There's a percentage added on top, so even if he appeals, he's going to have to come up with $500 million soon.

According to Forbes, he's going to have to either sell some stuff or transfer funds from the Trump Org into his personal accounts to satisfy these deposits. No one believes he has that much cash on hand. (Well, I mean, Trump probably believes it, but no one else)

A New York judge on Friday ordered Trump to pay nearly $355 million – plus interest – for falsely altering his net worth on key financial statements to receive tax and insurance benefits.

The decisionfell slightly short of the penalties requested by New York Attorney General Letitia James (D), who sued Trump in 2022 over deceitful business practices. However, with interest, the office said the figure will reach just over $450 million.

This is on top of the $83.3 million another New York City jury said Trump must pay writer E. Jean Carroll for defaming her in 2019, when he denied the longtime advice columnist’s accusation that he sexually assaulted her decades earlier.

Together, the two penalties amount to a whopping $438.1 million – and interest on the fraud case fine could bring that number above $500 million.

I don't think he'll be going to prison, but at the rate he's been losing lawsuits, bankruptcy is a possibility. Hopefully, when he's broke, nobody will pay attention to him anymore.

Honestly? It might be cynical to think this way, but all these corrupt, criminal things he's doing? He probably would have been able to get away with it all if he had kept his nose out of politics. You run for office and your life is going to be examined under a fine toothed comb by your opponent, desperately looking for some scandal, some dirt, something to use against you. If Trump didn't get that treatment, he'd probably have a much easier time getting away with a lot of these scandals.

Hi.  Nice that y'all remember me.

Yeah, he's not exactly contrite.  He lacks a lot of traits common in politicians and I think he's demonstrating why those traits are so common in elected officials.  Unfortunately, what he's very good at is repeating the talking points you hear if you watch Newsmax/OAN/Faux News and that keeps him popular with the GOP base.  The end result is, the republicans have a problem: the base loves Trump, but they have underperformed in EVERY election since he became president because moderate, undecided voters hate him.  His own party can only turn things around if they can get rid of him.

The wife of an investor has launched a GoFundMe to help fund former President Trump’s mounting legal expenses in the wake of Friday’s verdict in the New York fraud case.

The GoFundMe has a goal of $355 million — the amount that Judge Arthur Engoron ordered Trump to pay nearly in penalties in a civil fraud case. As of Saturday night, the GoFundMe had already raised over $185,000 with more than 4,000 donors.

With interest, Trump and his business could pay more than $450 million, according to the New York attorney general’s office.

The online fundraiser was started by Elena Cardone, the wife of investor Grant Cardone, an entrepreneur and investor.
